The team probably looks at the guys they'll be getting back from suspension/injury next year along with the guys this year and know that they'd prefer to make a run these next two years with a vet rather than rookie/unproven qb

Theyre in a position they dont need a young talented qb to lead them.

They will probably draft someone and let him ride the bench and learn.

Its the smart thing to do for them.

Why not just bring someone to sit behind one of the vets for a year or two? Worked in San Diego with Rivers and Green Bay with Rodgers :manny:

Because there are no quarterback prospects in college as talented as those guys.

Once Rodgers, Rivers, Palmer, Brews, Mannings of the world retire The NFL is going to go through a serious quarterback depression.

To the point once all those qbs retire you may see the entire NFL go towards a Chip Kelly type offensive scheme because there is already a severe lack of pocket quarterbacks in the college football as it is.

People need to understand we are in a Golden Age of quarterbacking. There has never been a period in the NFL with this many good quarterbacks.

Andrew Luck may be the last great quarterback prospect the league sees in a while

Because the two QBs you named were 1st round picks. One was heralded as the best QB in his draft and was slated to go #1 but fell to the Packers, the other was taken in the top 5 and was swapped with the Giants. Not everyone is gonna be Rodgers or Rivers, and the Cards would have to start losing to get one of those top picks. I think they secured their foreseeable future with Palmer, and they'll take a project QB in this years or next years draft

not true at all.
todays passing age has a ton of qbs who can sling the rock. the rules and 'game evolution' is tailor made for qbs to come in and put respectable stats.

there wont be TOP-heavy elite guys since peyton or arod are born once in a blue moon, but overall the quality of qbing relative to overall offensive output has risen considerably.

and lol putting palmer in the same sentence as brees manning and rodgers :mjlol:

NO
:manny: as a Niners fan Im glad this happened. Palmer is having a great year but he'll fall back to reality. AZ will regret not upgrading him down the road.
:childplease: Who says we wont? We already drafted Logan Thomas, for in all intents and purpose will be our QBOTF

And we have the the best offensive gurus in the game right now, so I'll doubt he will will back to reality. Cant say the same for your team though. :sas2:
