That was the main objective. Which they "won." What happened after was the USA colonizing Iraq via "democracy" installing puppet leaders and using it as a base(against Iran). Now you can say the USA "lost" because they didn't succeed in "Americanizing" Iraq especially considering Iraq is now leaning to Iran then whatever. But to use that against USA military prowess is idiotic. And yes, all that money was spent because the USA NEEDS bases against countries they see as a bigger target i.e Iran.

More importantly these cartel members don't even have the warrior prowess like these Islamic jihadist. They can't fight to the death with little food like those Yemeni rebels. If you think the USA military will struggle with glorified businessmen then I don't know what to tell you.

My point is that getting rid of the illicit drug trade wouldn't stop the cartels. If MS-13 can have a grip on their countries without much money, imagine the cartels with all their resources.

Iraq fukked up just like Libya now cuz of the wack wars that aint really winning or accomplishing anything substantial. If anything its creating more folks that hate us cuz of our methods. Our killing of innocents with drones.

No one is thinking about "politics" when they are about to invade Tehran or Caracus. The question is do we have the capability for such invasion. You can say military and politics go hand and hand and blah... blah... But fact is we judge military capabilities by battles won, skill, training, kill/death ratio and weaponry. Not politics. Heck USA won many/majority of major battles in Vietnam yet it was a "political" lose for USA. So yes you can use the "political" argument.
