He's originally from the UK. He has a whole different market over there that knows him better. Plus, in this singles-oriented environment, it's hard for an artist to translate even a number 1 single into album sales.

He was never signed to move units in the States. He still has a massive following in the Sub-Continent which Birdman has been eating off considerably. Down went Double platinum in the States too so he's definitely recouped the measly money he was signed for.
