When I learned I just started playing and read books as I went.

Its good to be able to calculate outs, and play using your position. Bluffing is a big part of the game though.

Imo bluffing > actual skill/knowledge of the game. You can win just playing the cards, but its harder.

this is why i'll never trust casinos. no matter what. their objective is to make sure you don't get your money back. it's legalized stealing. imagine that. they can say "sorry, our machine was broken, you didn't win". i'd be like "i don't give a damn, it wasn't my fault, give me my money".

Thats why i don't trust them, I normally just play poker because its one of the few games that you aren't going against the "house" They don't mind you taking money from other people. but they not trying to take that loss

i had a situation where they thought i stole from mgm casino because they saw me on camera making eye contact with a guy who actually did steal. they first 48'd me in a cold, padded room with a camera. told me they had me on camera making gestures to the thief. although all i did was look at him an acknowledge his presence.

Precisely, tourney poker is really the only thing I play at casinos. My grad school bankroll isn't big enough to play sit and go.
