I was following the Smack DVD era shyt when I was in middle school. I'm not too familiar with what you're talking about as far as 2raw goes but I followed all his shyt bc I was a fan. He's actually not dumb, Gillie spoke o his past before when they were beefing. Most rappers who are any good are more intelligent than they put on.
He's not Jay Z or anything as far as intricate rhymes go but he is creative with how he delivers them. You're hating for no reason lol. Did ppl try to duplicate him? Yes. But none were as good as him, imo. Royce is a better songwriter but in a cypher or battle, Royce ain't out-rapping Cass.

Cass would lose to the majority of mid tier battles, don't let your nostalgia and low threshold for lyrics hype your opinion...and yes, Royce would fukking outrap cassidy...he's up there w/ Elzhi and them. Y'all nikkas think a suffix using simile-slave internet punchline nikka like Cassidy is a dope rapper among dope rappers? professional battle rap is corny. theyre not elevating anything. its just glorified spoken word at this point.
but yea, i do think cass would lose on-stage cuz hes too far out of his element. the original dizaster battle when cass was doing that spoken-word chit was awful(and even then, cass was still winning. lol) the 2nd battle when they got everybody in that room was dope.

when cassidy first started buzzing, people were calling him baby cannibus. he didnt start out punchy. and even when he hit mainstream, alot of his stuff wasnt punchy either. hell, watch that dizaster battle and look at how he flipped dizaster's rippity-rappity style better than him, while battling dude.
one of the biggest misconceptions in hip-hop by SOME people is that "punchline rappers" arent as lyrical as the rappity-rap nikkas. when in reality, the majority of the punchy dudes can do that rippity chit if they want to, and alot of them done already did that. the fact of the matter is, it usually takes more wit, skills & cleverness to be a punchline rapper as opposed to a nicca that just strings big words together. thats what everybody does when they start out rapping. lol.

I have a high standard for lyrics, Cassidy is one of the best at his style. How that translates to songwriting isn't the question. In the cypher/battle arena, his style works.
I don't know why you keep calling into question other ppl intelligence tho. My favorite rappers are Andre 3000, JAY Z and Lupe Fiasco. I can appreciate the creativity at all levels if it's there. The rappers you named are dope.
