Rapper gunned down on Loop 410 after performance
SAN ANTONIO - A rapper had just left a club performance when someone in a silver car started following him. Witnesses say there were no reported problems or confrontations during the performance.
Then just after 2:30am early Saturday morning on Loop 410 between Callaghan and Babcock, the suspect in the silver car opened fire on the 26-year-old rapper. The suspect then fled on Loop 410 towards I-10.
When EMS arrived, 25-year-old Christopher Polk was pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was shot in the hand and was taken to University in stable condition.
All the eastbound lanes of Loop 410 in the area were closed while police investigated. No suspects or reason for the shooting have been released, but early reports via social media show the shooting may have been out of retaliation.
The shooting was not of New York rapper Tekashi6ix9ine, who was in town Thursday for a performance. Police arrested Adam Rodriguez, 35, in that incident after an officer recognized him as an individual who recently posted a video on social media threatening Tekashi6ix9ine.
