Really starting to dislike when people comment about the law like they know it but no knowledge of the administration of it. No - the jury decision has to be unanimous. Meaning that all jurors have to come to the same agreement. If not, the jury is considered deadlocked and she would have to be retried. Total of 12 jurors -If the jury is majority white, at 7 and rest are black at 5, but 10 go with guilty and 2 held over for not guilty , then they have to confer until they reach the same verdict. If the jury feels like they absolutely cannot reach a decision, she’s not getting off just bc they all can’t reach an agreement.

I dont know anything about the law so I wont pretend like I do, but this happened in the county I stay in. Ive had jury duty before where the case is happening, and each time I was there, there were maybe 10-20 white people out of 200 in the room waiting to be called.

Good Info to know that we’re in the majority there. That means that even during the jury selection, her defense attorney won’t have a chance to counter many jurors based off the numbers alone. Cacs in this thread talking like it’s Simi Valley, CA at 99% white. They charged her with 5 seperate counts too, which means there’s an even greater chance of getting a conviction. I saw 3 black judges and 1 white one; she’s done.
