Like clockwork :mjlol:. For the record, are you saying AI was not a legit superstar and outscored Melo, while his not a legit superstar ass was on the decline? :jbhmm:

How are we defining showing up? Yelling more? More histrionics? It's not like Westbrook had some great game (by his standards) today. The man gets the credit and the blame. You want Russ to be the man, then you can't get mad at him being treated like it (which really isn't happening).

Its like clockwork because its reality.
AI was 31 and definitely on the downtrend by the time he got up with Melo or are you going to actually argue he was in his prime at 31 as a undersized guard who was always a streaky shooter?

I definie showing up by playing and actually having an effect on the game.
Russ doesn't get the credit when they win and all of the blame when they lose to protect the media sacred cow of Durant, so I don't understand what point you are trying to make.

He avg 26 and 7 assists on 48% shooting with 2 steals..maybe not his absolute prime but still a superstar regardless.

Avoiding the reality of AI outscoring Melo while "on the downtrend as an undersized streaky shooting guard" like the plague :laff:

What affect did Russ have on today's game, or the numerous other games the Thunder have lost to Bron led teams? How was it greater that KDs? Why wasn't KDs contribution enough for a number 2? People complain what the media is doing (which isn't actually happening, it's just a fun strawman to point to) while inversely doing the exact same thing. I am fine with KD or Russ getting the man props and blame. I just want folks to make up their minds and be consistent about it. I will call out the duplicity of trying to have it both ways no matter who tries it.

He played with Iverson in his prime (look up the numbers)

No need to lie. Iverson could not spell efficiency until he played with 'Melo. Iverson played with 'Melo when he was 32, 33, and 34. He was trash in 4 of the 5 playoff games in his 1st series in Denver, good in the 2nd series, and didn't play in the 3rd.

The reality of a past prime 31 year old AI having a good year, doesn't equate with Melo never having someone like Russ playing with him like KD has had.

Come on now, you are struggling to make a point and trying to use stats with no knowledge behind it.

====
What effect did Russ have today, the only times there were competitive is when Russ was pushing the tempo, the only time they were disruptive defensively was when Russ was roaming the lanes and , like always against top teams the only one who showed up to play with some tenacity in action was Russ. Like usual KD was too cool for school and disappeared.

If I was arguing for a double standard you might be right, Im not arguing for a double standard. I'm arguing that the media stop protecting Durant and using Russell as the goat to blame for all KD's failures.

It wasn't his prime though and at the time he was no where close to being what he was earlier.

A "good" year where he outscored Melo who never had superstar help outside of of course a guy who could outscore him in a "good year while on the decline". Keep spinning. :mjlol: At least you finally acknowledged it :ehh:

Yup like I said, he yelled more so he must be trying harder :pachaha:. Even used a :skip: line :skip:.

You are arguing for and against inconsistency at the same time. How inconsistent of you :heh:. You want KD to take "the man" heat, yet you are saying that Russ is the man. How is that not inconsistent? It's the same exact thing you are accusing the media of doing. I guess it's just a problem because it's going in the wrong direction (it actually isn't happening but you get my drift).

What is he becoming??

28 ppg on 50℅ shooting..40 from 3 and 90 from the line :dahell:

Only Curry and arguably Westbrook is a better player this season.
Any star of his stature can compile those kinds of stats over the body of a season or so ...he's elite talent and faces a variety of competition...but KD shrinks when facing top level talent in big games...like melo. I like melo and kd...but Russ doesn't shrink the way these two do facing top comp....(even though KD did ball against GS last time they played...still resulting in a loss tho)

I agree with this point.

Russ is in a no win situation media wise.

With that said I cant help feeling they are so close but just need one small thing to get them over the hump.

You cant even say its as simple as Russ always needing to defer to Durant because I have seen games where that has happened and it still didnt work out for them.

Westbrook is the most all around talented dude Durant is ever going to play with(and yes even if Durant goes to GSW I still say Russ)

I keep coming back to this point.....Harden was the perfect release valve for that OKC squad.

Harden use to come off the bench with Collison and flat out wreak havoc against opposing squads...

But management in OKC got shortsighted...
