Bathroom break in my car? For an hour long zoom interview?:mjlol: With a bunch of boxes and bullshyt in the background?:mjlol:

I did the phone interview in my car and I had to turn off the AC because the lady said my background was too loud. Y’all expect me to do a zoom interview in my hot ass car for an hour?:mindblown:
You couldn’t pull into a Starbucks or coffee shop, throw on a nice shirt in the bathroom, and hop on their WiFi? I mean people understand if you tell them beforehand you’re in the field, to accommodate the time they prefer you’d have to take the call on the road. Everybody isn’t sitting at home or in an office for interviews.

Some of you are amazing.. YOU ARE the one who wants the job. The hiring manager has to fit you and whoever else is interviewing for that position in their schedule. I bet the other people made time or re-worked their schedules to accommodate the interview.

Now you're on here shytting on the Company. Personal accountability shouldn't be that hard.
Nah they were buggin

OP had legit excuses

This gotta be the weakest shyt I’ve ever seen. :dwillhuh: I applied for a job last week and the day after I get a call back from the recruiter stating they want to do a phone interview. I’m like aight no problem. I’m at my current job and stop working to do their 30 minute phone interview. They tell me I don’t have enough experience for the job I applied for but they have another job (Media Systems Specialist) they think I’m a good fit for since I’m still kind of new as far as my career and I can learn a lot. The job is all the way out in Hauppague and I live in Brooklyn but I would have no problem making a move for that job.:ehh:

Everything is going great but the recruiter asks me to redo my resume and add more detail and email to her and she would submit it to the hiring manager. I redo the resume send it to her and a few days later I get an email back saying the hiring manager wants to do an interview. :gladbron:

Now this is last weekend and I’m trying to set up the interview with this recruiter. For my current job last week I was on call, so I was working 12 pm- 11 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am - 11 pm Saturday and Sunday. I’m trying to negotiate a good time slot for the interview but I’m only able to do it in the morning time because I’m at work during the afternoon. She’s telling me the hiring managers are only available for the afternoon. :comeon: I’m like ok fine would you be able to push this interview out for the week of the 9th and she’s like ok we can do that.

Now its the week of the 2nd of August and I’m waiting for a response from her but get nothing. :dwillhuh: So I email her asking for a response and I get some bullshyt automated message that she’s out of the office and will be returning on 6/22/2021:what:.

Now today is the 9th and I haven’t heard shyt back from that lady. :mindblown: nikkas really ghosted me on a job interview. :mindblown:
You make time for opportunity…..you want the job go get it next time, cuz theyll find certainly someone to fill it…..

But don’t sweat it, you may not be meant to be there

That's a sign they are unorganized and you shouldn't work there
Sometimes the best job is where they are unorganized. If you keep your head down, you can slip through the cracks. They will be paying you to sit at home playing Xbox.

I think the issue might have been with scheduling the phone call. Depends on what they are paying, I probably would have taken that day off and been available whenever.

The hiring process sucks. I don’t know how people can go from job to job.

Keyword is bolded. He had excuses…outside of jail or a call center I think it’s difficult to see how he could not have fit in any afternoon time. You have to always remember that they have multiple candidates, they have an abundance mindstate, if you’re too busy to meet with the, they’ll give their time to someone who does.

Doing an interview in a car or taking a short lunch break is not at all ideal.

OP wanted to be in a comfortable environment where he could answer the questions with a clear head.

That job is filled breh breh :francis:

The recruiter moved on to the next person.

this. The recruiting world is cutthroat. They usually have quotas to meet and aren’t willing to wait, especially this early in the hiring process. Might be bad business but at the end of the day she is only concerned with filling the role, not leaving a good impression.

good learning experience for you, sound like your career is moving in the right direction so you’ll have more opportunities.

In the future if it’s something you really want you gotta make it happen on your end. Take a call in an office with the door locked, in the whip, call in sick/have a doctors appt, whatever you gotta do.

…and how did that work out for him? nikka I would have been in a hot ass car doing my interview with a zoom background of an office. I took a call for my current job at a park on a picnic date, and 2nd interview on my Mountain Bike in the middle of the woods. I said “I’m sorry, I’m mountain biking right now let me pull over”. Muhfukkaz softer than Charmin out here….

This. @Illuminatos you should’ve struck while the iron was hot. There was a whole sea of candidates who had no problem bushing their day job for this come up and their devotion was rewarded. Sorry for the loss but there is a lesson to be learned here

I sympathize for OP but you gotta do what you gotta do if you want the gig. I’ve dipped out of work and rented out Breather rooms in the city for phone interviews. It’s a bunch in NYC that you can rent for an hour. Most look like an office space.

HR everywhere is in desperation mode due to the pandemic. There are way more jobs than people willing to work, that’s corporate and retail. They probably felt they had to do too much running around and went to the next person.

The issue is the new job wasn’t guaranteed

it’s taking a leap of faith

His old job is at risk if they find out he’s bunking off to look for a new employer if he doesn’t have a sufficient excuse eyebrows will be raised. OP has rent/ mortgage bills to pay. I remember taking a day off work to do a job interview for a Hail Mary job application the current employers started questioning my absences and being sceptical of their legitimacy.
