1. Goes to www.xe.com to see today's exchange rate :manny:
2. Reads that $1 US dollar equals $1.29319 CDN dollar :banderas:
3. Remembers when it wasn't too long ago when the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar. :lupe:
4. Feels good to see the US dollar is worth more than the Canadian dollar again :lolbron:

It's not really Harper. It's Bank of Canada keeping interest rates low to a) keep the housing market hot (turns out boomers didn't save enough for retirement and need to cash out on all that expensive real estate they are sitting on) and b) try and get Ontario's economy pumping again. A high dollar actually sort of hurts us as only Alberta really does well. Exporting in the other provinces all takes a hit with a high dollar.

Watch him win

I have a feeling he won't get the majority BUT I've been reading about how similar NDP and Conservashyts mandates are so a coalition government with NDP will continue the Harper chokehold on the country.

I'm surprised the real estate market in Canada is still standing, the price for a condo in vancouver is ridiculously too high, now you can see a whole family living in a small apartment cause price are too high right now to buy a place in vancouver or Toronto, the bubble gonna hit hard one day.

High dollar is only good for things like retail across the border.....our economy has always been much better globally when we were at 0.75-0.80 USD
It eoncurages foreign economies and governemnts to invest here which brings the jobs....same with american business interests. They dont wanna work here when its at par....
