Im willing to argue its not because of Rondo though, its because of Doc. Rondo ran Doc's system which Doc has wanted the new guys to buy in to it. Rondo would often bring the ball up court and wait for guys to get in position, running Doc system.
With no Rondo Doc has pretty much abandoned his system and guys are now playing roles they are more comfortable playing. Look at the bench, they have been the key factor in this streak.
Makes sense. The games I watched when Rondo was playing seemed to give him too much freedom in terms of how the plays were ran. It also looked like guys had the green light to shoot whenever they received a pass from him... even if it was a quick one with plenty of time on the shotclock left.
Now they have to rely on ball movement opposed to Rondo trying to orchestrate every possession to his liking.
