Im willing to argue its not because of Rondo though, its because of Doc. Rondo ran Doc's system which Doc has wanted the new guys to buy in to it. Rondo would often bring the ball up court and wait for guys to get in position, running Doc system.
With no Rondo Doc has pretty much abandoned his system and guys are now playing roles they are more comfortable playing. Look at the bench, they have been the key factor in this streak.

Makes sense. The games I watched when Rondo was playing seemed to give him too much freedom in terms of how the plays were ran. It also looked like guys had the green light to shoot whenever they received a pass from him... even if it was a quick one with plenty of time on the shotclock left.

Now they have to rely on ball movement opposed to Rondo trying to orchestrate every possession to his liking.

Doc has said in order to move forward, Rondo needs to step up and take partial scoring loads off KG/PP (which he hasn't done on a consistent basis - entirely on Rondo's head). Doc basically gave Rondo the freedom to do what he wanted out there; that offense was based on Rondo freelancing. That's why he out there tryna pad his stats. That doesn't mean Doc is absolved from his part in it either, the FO too.

It's a combination of both Doc and Rondo. Rondo because he's actually in the game ground pounding and waiting for players to get in position and Doc for running these stupid draining plays. Now, since we don't have a very strong ball handler, the team is forced to pass more, leading to more fast breaks and a generally more open offense. It also helps that teams haven't really prepared for this version of the celtics.

Team looks better as they always do after Doc's hand is forced. Every time a trade happens where his player options are limited or when integrating new players into it, the offense flourishes. Keeping it simple is when the offense works best

rondo is very good at collapsing defenses just enough to get guys open looks at the shots they like in the spot they like. it just so happens damn near everybody on this teams go to shot is the long 2, which is basically the worst shot in basketball. can't put all the blame on him for the shytty offense.

the thing i didn't like about him this year was that his defense was nonexistent. the only thing he would attempt is a steal as the guy was already by him. opposing pg's were having career games damn near every night.

Now we're justing gutting out these wins :leon:

They played flat nearly the whole game, Raptors played well. Ugly game but they're getting it done. Barbosa beasting once again off the bench.

This is a completely different team with Rondo but it's working somehow :ehh:
