They would be better off with Fultz than PG.

Boston roster isn't good enough to challenge.

They gotta plan for 2020

by then everybody will be gone. ain't nobody patient enough to see their team keep losing to Cavs. it gets old.

boston was #1 seed. adding PG helps them instantly. they gotta move more pieces, but IT/PG13 will be very good together for years to come

i ain't saying they will challenge cavs right away. but you now have 2 core pieces. everybody else can be moved around. build the team around those 2.

Any plan built around a 5'8 scoring PG is a stupid plan. They don't have the horses to make it now. Build for the future. Draft well. Continue to work as a top tier franchise, maybe you also draw a great player in FA.

But PG would be a trade, which means you gotta GIVE UP assets to get him.

That's checkers. NBA roster building and fitment is chess.

Trade the #1 pick in a loaded draft to rent PG13 for a year? SMH. :snoop:

The Celtics where the #1 seed, made it to the ECF and also got the #1 pick in the same year. Take Fultz, let IT walk. You still got Smart, Bradley and Rozier. Add a couple pieces with the upwards of 30 mil cap space and let these young guns develop. Fultz, Jaylen, Smart, plus Brooklyn #1 next year, the future is bright.

No interest in a one year run. I want to be contenders year in and year out. If it takes 3 more years to get to that point, so be it. :hubie:

The gap between the celtics and even Cleveland is so large that it makes no sense to part with basically your future just to be good enough to go 6 or 7 with cleveland instead of getting swept or losing in 5. I wouldn't be willing to trade a 1 pick to get 2 more games on cleveland. That imp makes no sense. It's why I scoffed at posters proposing these deals for jimmy or pg13. Expecting a team to part with a top 5 pick and what could be your future for 1 and 2 year rentals of pg13 or jimmy just to what fight for a 8th seed? Gain a couple games on the cavs and still at best lose in the ecf?

Imo opinion, the supermax is all time once in a lifetime money and Paul george is not going to compromise a shot at getting that dough to ring chase. Imo pg13 will either stay in Indiana or force a trade to the lakers. Why? Because those are the teams he still has a shot to get that all nba nod to qualify for that supermax. He goes to cleveland or boston etc his chances decrease tremendously at getting that all nba nod because especially with cleveland his numbers will suffer, maybe with boston it could sustain but he is sharing that ball a lot with thomas horford etc. But it just makes no sense for ainge to make that trade.

I dont either, them Boston cacs are overhyping him saying hes like John Wall but he'll be even better :heh:

I could see him being better than John Wall. It will depend on how well he can shoot.

The Celtics should be patient and realize that now is not their time pretty much no matter what they do. So they should take the best player in this draft try to sign Hayward and hope that the core grows and matures together. They have assets to make trades down the line without trading this year's or next year's pick. Go that route if they must but don't trade those picks cause they are probably going to be studs and in five years when they are 23/24 they will be ready to run things in the East.
