And teams will still play hack a Howard with him in crunch time

He's better than all of their big men, this would be an improvement for this year and not much beyond that. The Celtics are in a position where they can definitely go after someone like Dwight and still have a ton of assets left over.


Unlike the Lakers & Rockets they wouldn't be acquiring him with the idea he's their franchise player, I wouldn't even be shocked if they got him now and didn't resign him in the summer (Going after Whiteside). They have more options than anyone else in the league because of their situation with the Nets.

This is a move to try and get to the 2nd round, not win the East. They have to keep improving if they want to keep Stevens around.
