nikka, it's one thing to cheer for your team and hope for the best finish but you're delusional if you think the Raptors are contenders like the Cs. The favorites in the East are Boston and then Philly and then Toronto. The Toronto team as is hasn't accomplished nearly as much as the Cs. And again, Kawhi will only be a cRaptor for this season.
:mjlol: at Philly being more of a contender than the Raptors. Philly couldn't even beat the Celtics skeleton crew with virtually the same team they have going into this season. The Raptors have the best player in the conference and one of the best benches in the league. It is also very possible they have the best defense in the league. They are on Boston's level.

As a heart attack.....I'm guessing Celtics & Sixers.....can't figure out who that 3rd team is
The Vegas over/under for the Raptors is 54.5 wins, only the Warriors and Celtics are higher. (Sixers and Rockets are both tied.) Toronto can put some of the scariest defensive lineups in the league on the floor.

Lowry, Kawhi, Anunoby, Ibaka, Valunciunas, Danny Green, Delon Wright, Pascal Siakim, Fred VanVleet...and LeBron isn't around to scare them anymore.

Boston beat LeBron a couple times in his prime years tho
Was that even this decade? Other than Tony Allen, the only player on that entire team who ain't retired is playing with LeBron now. :dead:

Since 2010, there's only been two years where LeBron didn't personally end the Celtics' playoffs.

Celtics have a good offensive system, but will they be willing to run a freeflow offense with their young duo's new development. GS works so wondrously because Steph, Klay, KD are all natural shooters (despite KD's iso-tendencies) and Klay is lowkey. Then you have Draymond there who embraces his natural role with defensive/b-ball intangibles and can chuck up a few clanks as well. Celtics are reincorporating Kyrie and adding Gordon Hayward who have both been ball-handlers intertwining with Tatum's emergence. And even then you still have Jaylen Brown whose looking to take the next step, the Celtics will be successful either way but how much remains to be seen :ehh:

They proved they could do all of this with guys who barely been in the NBA, don’t see why they couldn’t with a guy who’s always been a willing system player in Gordon.

To compete and beat the Dubs you have to be able to switch everything defensively. Teams like the Celtics, Rockets, Raptors have shown the ability to do that which is why they've beat or had very close games against the Warriors. The Lakers should also be able to switch everything against them.

The Warriors added DeMarcus Cousins which might prevent teams from throwing out those small, super switchable lineups.

You got to have a big and small lineup package going forward

:dahell: did we watch the same series? Celts sonned them WITHOUT Kyrie and Hayward

I mean, dudes were filling up the stats.

Philly just lost.

:manny:

I hold the opinion that Embiid and Simmons are an outright mismatch at their positions, and so I don't think Boston has any answer for them. This coming season will definitely prove some things now that players on both teams have solid NBA experience under their belts.
