SO WHY DID THEY
GET RID OF HIM?

Didn't fit in with their timeline. They were tanking and it wouldn't make sense to keep a guy like that when you can get two FRP and a guy with a lot of promise when healthy (Williams) in return for him. Especially when he was an expiring contract who would've 100% walked at the end of that season anyway.

Not huge on Simon's his defense sucks but dont understand this trade, maybe Portland flips jrue?
This is probably for vet leadership and them going all in on a playoff/play in spot.

And don't forget Portland did this before by signing Andre Miller as a vet leader during the early days of the Roy/Aldridge/Oden era

I don't think Boston is done because I think they need to trade either White or Porzingis to be under rule that was implemented where you need to trade players who go over the cap (sorry forgot the name of it)

Which is cool and all, but Boston should have been the one sending out picks since Portland is taking on long term money in the deal.

Jrue looked a step slow last season and will get worse as that deal ages.

If you shytting on Holiday, you a casual.

There's a reason why he got the praise he got from New Orleans, Milwaukee, and Boston.

You obviously didn't watch him play last year as he looked a step slow and is going to be make $37 million dollars in the last year of that deal.

Portland did Boston a favor taking on the last 3 years of that deal at $104 million dollars and not even getting a pick out of it.

That's why people are clowning the deal.

Simons is one of those players no team wants to trade for. In terms of Portland again look at the post talking about Andre Miller.

So that means trading his expiring deal for player with 3 years and $104 million dollars at age 37 while also sending out picks to move him :mjlol:

That was a salary dump for Boston, so they were supposed to be the ones sending out picks and not getting them in return.

I had to double check on how bad this trade is lol, Portland even adds a couple picks just to take on that bad Holiday contract

Simons has like one year left in his contract. Boston could simply let him go and it would still be a W for them because of getting rid of Holiday contract.

Yeah sure Holiday will be a great locker room leader in Portland, but not for that fukking price. Bring all the rule changes but you can't fix incompetence of some of these franchises. I remember when Portland helped the Clippers a lot by giving away their valuable assets for dirt cheap. I wonder at what point will the Celtics and Clippers return their favor to Portland.
