this loosely reminds me of a Eddie Guerrero vs Ric Flair promo and Flair was talking about "i gave my life to wrestling, blah blah blah" and Eddie was like "My entire family gave their lives to wrestling "...He killed Flair with that line. Flair was trying to be on some "son" shyt, and eddie was like nah my family been here too playboy. That's all Roman had to bring up was the fact that his entire lineage is based in wrestling, he seen multiple family members die from wrestling related shyt, etc...like if Cena wanna shoot and be "real" then get real. But of course before Roman could start coming back they send out Tex Ferguson and Chad 2 Badd.

Roman had nothing. People in this thread keep ignoring that Reigns isn't capable of standing toe to toe in a promo war. He can't even come up with clever insults on Twitter.

My favorite thing he said was actually "why would I want to be the next Cena when I have my family's legacy" or something like that. It was actually pretty good.

Yep. It's a very bad look, but you can only get better at these things with practice. If you go out there 51 weeks out of the year with scripted promos and you're not naturally a talker or charismatic, you're going to look like shyt the one time you have to go off the cuff under pressure because you haven't been exercising that skill.

All this does is expose the E's hotshot to the top mentality. The real benefit of the old school grind was guys got to hone their characters, contribute somewhat to their promos which in turn built up their skills. It made guys look like a million bucks when they were finally ready for the limelight.
