Lack of oversight and accountability in relation to trust given and risk.

You decide to set up some private company selling rocks to the general population, you can and other shareholders have more freedom regarding the controls put in place for the company.

You market yourself as non-profit, greater controls are required as the public is trusting that you're not using it as a front to evade paying taxes, that you are providing the advertised benefit to the community.

You start publicly trading shares, again, greater oversight is required to protect those trading in the open market.

These rules are not put in place. They're not even enough and should be more stringent.

Vince could technically be fired because his company is public

I doubt that would happen cause he puts family and very close associates on his board

but a hostile takeover could technically happen
