CEOs from major retailers met with Trump and told him shelves will be empty this summer because of his tariff policies.

The layoffs are going to be fukking brutal in literally like 2 months. I really wish people voted like they had some fukking sense.
I had 2 meetings with my direct reports about our volume. I told them there may be a point where we can only keep people with the best numbers. They just stared at me blankly.

Even talk to the owner about it. He had nothing to say.

So many people really have no idea what they have done or what is about to happen.

I already know I will have to let people go.

We’ve been telling people for the last five months to stock up on all appliances, electronics, etc.

That’s not only digital electronics like the stuff with screens. Electronics means anything that you need a power source like a battery or wall outlet to operate.

A toaster is an electrical appliance. Even if it dies nothing fancy and looks purely “mechanical”. There are still electrical components to it that are being tariffed. Imagine your toaster breaks and it’s $200 for a new one.

That kind of stuff is going to be insanely expensive. Nevermind an air fryer.

Then your everyday items as well.

It was like getting a heads up on Covid months ahead and preparing.

Especially with Temu cutting off shipping, people have a week to find value.

Within the next 1-3 weeks it's gonna get very interesting and there will be no spin he can whip out to fix it. Just like he has no spin for prices still being high. The reason people gave him a shot over Kamala was this one issue and he fukked it up.
That’s what I’m expecting. Not that I want it to happen, but shyt is going to get bad

Our consumerist orgy is over now, we going back to the days where you save and buy for quality and assurance. It's going to be some weird times because I do feel like people need to make more concentrated purchases so we can waste less products and ultimately have healthier less materialistic lives. On the other hand, not only will the best products be expensive but the cheap ones too, which basically ices a lot of people out of the majority of the things they plan to own

Republicans went from “Don’t Tread on Me” to “Don’t let that child own more than 3 Barbies.”

[Quoted tweet]
Trump: "I don't think a beautiful baby girl that's 11 years old needs to have 30 dolls. I think they can have three dolls or four dolls ... they don't need to have 250 pencils. They can have five."

And they are proud of it. They'll tell you their refrigerators and waistlines needed a "correction".:pachaha:

Sadly, You cant shame a fool any more than you can shame a door knob. You'll just look silly trying to give it a lecture.
Which is why when it comes to elections, you say fcck these folks because they just want the world to burn.

We beginning to reach Jim Jones levels. Jones during the mass suicide had kids killed first so the parents and adults would feel guilty.

i'm sure all those CEO's voted for him expeditiously
When he was president they got a massive tax cut that's expiring this year.

He's trying to create a tariff based system to pay for the tax cut to be renewed. Theyll stick with it if it means he'll scrape together enough money to fund the tax bill. He's moving fast because it's not guaranteed that Republicans will keep their seats around midterm season.

At the end of the day the CEOs don't actually care about the business. They just want their money. Theyll get their golden parachutes and let someone else deal with the tanking sales and devaluing shares. They know what he is(a scammer) and trust him because they're cut from the same cloth.

The playbook is very simple:
-Get hired to save costs and raise funds so share holders can get higher dividends.
-Fire a bunch of staff. Use the money you would have been paying them to buy and pump the company stock.
-Show off all the savings you've gotten for the company at the quarterly meeting.
-Collect huge bonus on top of salary that's over 300x what the average worker makes.
-Leave with millions of dollars worth of company stock and cash. Cash out your stocks which sends a signal to the company that they need to get the value of the stock back up again.
-Board of directors hires a new CEO to pump the stock and the process repeats.

This is essentially how the economy has been running since 2012. A company can be absolute garbage at selling products and services but that does not matter as long as the stock is valuable. It's purely based on grifting shareholders and using the government for bailouts when there isn't enough money to keep the scam going.

But good luck doing that shyt when unemployment is high due to automation and CEOs just continuing to fire and not hire new people because they want to save costs. Trump knows the tax base is shrinking so he wants to use tariffs to make up the difference. He's putting a tax on people for things they want and need on top of what they already pay in taxes.

In a country where most people can read and know what 'critical thinking' means, this scam would've been stopped years ago. Fortunately for rich pieces of shyt, America is dumb and rich enough to fall for this shyt every time. The American public is the equivalent of a senile boomer that insists that he isn't being scammed despite sending half of his life savings to someone he's never met and has nothing to show for it.
