You need to watch Brad Kaaya play. He is the best QB prospect in the game right now. Straight up, no homer. He is sure-fire Top 10 pick when he comes out

Also I feel like a lot of brehs are getting caught up in numbers when talking about pro potential QB's :patrice:As I feel like CFB is actually pretty deep right now in guys who tick off a lot of pro boxes.

How many QB's have we seen translate to pro game well who only put up above average numbers in college. :jbhmm:
What's your top 5 right now in terms or translating to the league?

And sorry if it wasn't clarified clearly, but when I made this thread I had only the 2016 draft in mind

I'll check Kaaya out tho

Been watching Kaaya since last year, I love his poise. I was one the few in the CFB thread that like him over Watson.

I didn't see Goff highlights yet nor his game. But i could tell you that Dykes is an Air Raid disciple, so you got be cautious with their QBs. .
Yeah thing with Goff with me is that Dykes had Colby Cameron balling out at LaTech :patrice:

Historically I havent been a big watcher of CFB, so I am having a hard time separating the players performance from the college style offenses they run

When I watch Goff I see a very accurate arm. I see a quick enough release and good footwork. He can throw on the run without his accuracy taking a hit. And even with a 'gimmicky offense' IU can see him going through progressions. Hes not going into passing plays with only one option in mind.

Im not sold on his arm strength, but it seems good enough...

And when I say very accurate, I mean hes not only hitting the receivers with the ball, hes hitting them in the ideal spot for them to make the catch, and continue the play. If that makes sense? His ball placement is just superb

I just love the accuracy Im seeing from him. Seems a bit special in that regard.

:08 Went to his second progression found the open man.
:30 - Stays in the pocket while defender coming throw to a perfect lead pass to receiver.

He's growing. If he could get his ball placement right, he going to be a beast.

I need to check dude out. You prefer him over Watson huh?

I watched a few Cal games last year because they had a few all-time fukkery shootouts and I know this is the worst, most ESPN shyt to say, but Goff just doesn't pass the eye test to me when thinking next level. He's got really happy feet (my biggest gripe with him) and his throwing motion just looks off, and he missed some easy things huge which just usually isn't a thing that happens to QB's in his sort of system. I haven't seen him yet this year, but last year his accuracy wasn't particularly special, either. Just above average. Cal plays every good Pac team other than USC this year, so I'll be seeing a lot more of him again this year to see if he's improved.

I noticed the happy feet when watching tape from last year, I didnt see it as much the other night. I didnt notice anything off about his throwing motion. Im gonna try and check his games this season and keep updating this thread with what I see

The rest of the QB class for the 2016 draft seems wack though

Pos Rep back :troll:

Kaaya is nice, I love how his foot always planted when throwing. Great technique.

Watson is good but Kaaya have more upside. Plus Watson needs to stay healthy.

True freshman in a pro style offense. I give him a pass. Hackenberg was at 58% too his freshman year, and that was better was his shytty soph season.

@The Taxman and I like him.

I know some dudes hate Taxman but he's the first non-Packer breh gushing about ARod greatness.

I dont really see the happy feet this year or really last year. as a freshman he wasnt as polished, true, but thats then and nows now. his footwork is very solid imo aside from a few instances of throwing off the back foot here and there, usually against the rush

he does hold on to the ball a bit too long sometimes, which is something I forgot to mention in my first post, but I feel like that can be taught in the pros.

I noticed it watching highlights from last season (happy feet that is) but I wouldnt necessarily count it as a negative againist him.

He just seems to like to keep his feet constantly moving in the pocket. It reminds me of Peyton in a way. I still think he does a good job of setting his footwork before throwing

Goff said in a interview before the game this weekend that he tries to emulate Payton's feet.

EDIT:This is from a profile on Goff before the season.

When Goff maneuvers inside the pocket, his feet bounce up and down off the turf. Franklin calls this "Peyton Manning feet," adding that they frequently watch film of Manning.

"We get our feet as hot as a typewriter," Franklin says. "We're always able to move and find a throwing lane because we're always having our feet hot like a typewriter."

I'm an MSU fan and I don't see how Connor Cook is an NFL qb at this point. He has the size and is clutch...other than that his spiral isn't tight (n/h), he throws unexplainable picks and throws that will be sure picks in the league. His arm strength doesn't wow me.

Above average college coach that's benefited from coaching and defense.
