For better or worse, their sound was a whole generation of NXT. Some people got heat, some people got trash. Interested to see what this new group is about - themes can definitely mean the world when someone is debuting. They give someone trash on NXT and it might-could tank their whole shyt.

Off-topic: Big E needs to get laced with a fresh theme if this solo run is gonna be real and not just about him carrying the New Day torch. fukk it, let homie use his connects with Flatbush and shyt.

the problem also is Jim Johnston was producing at a time where wrestling was gimmick heavy so it was easier for him to craft Even WCW had bangers around a gimmick filled period

these days aimt much to work with with wrestlers with barely any personality
so you end up with generic rock themes CAW themes and a few stand outs

Everything is too pre-packaged. The wrestler ain't even involved in their presentation, their music, hell most of the time their entrance. It's pre-decided and they get slotted into it. shyt is wack. If there's no gimmicks, then there has to be some kind of individualism, especially since 95% of E wrestlers are taught to cut promos in the same cadence using the same pool of words and jamming in as many corporate buzzwords as they can... combined with a paired down moveset for everyone... there's just not enough individuality allowed anymore. Hell, they took the Team BAD theme, changed words and gave it to the Street Profits.

Could you imagine in the AE, taking Blackman's theme and throwing it to Val Venis for any reason? shyt would be DOA.:francis: But these days, I could randomize half of the talents' themes and it wouldn't be too jarring outside of the few, few themes that actually have to do with who comes out to them. The music gotta fit the person. It's why some themes hit different, even if they aren't actually good in a vacuum. (Looking at you, Snoop remix to Sasha's theme.)

Just to add, it seems like they only know how to produce one style of hip hop tracks, so you could legit randomize Crews, Cedric, Bianca, Street Profits, and several other tracks and it wouldn’t make a difference. Ironically, Matt Riddle’s stands out a lot to me cause it sounds like an off brand Dr. Dre or Soopafly beat that would’ve gone to Shade Shiest or Roscoe :laff:

Facts. Which is dumb, it's not like a spotify producer wouldn't slide them a beat for prices so low the talent could shell it out.
