Falling Devil is too op
And of course Yoru does Denji dirty

And of course Yoru does Denji dirty

Asa got popular while fighting for the Devil Hunter Club with Fami's crew. It was brief, but it seemed like she was their poster child for a while (when Denji wasn't allowed to turn into CSM for a while). She even put out a book of poetry that Kitana man knew about...I remember because there was a theory that Yoru would weaponize Kitana Man since he was an Asa fan![]()
I might not remember from shyt from the early parts of Pt 2, but when was Asa popular?
Maybe this is more so to show how awful she is at manipulating Denji.
I hope not. That'd be such a waste of a great character.Denji was literallylooking at all the options he was looking at.
The Fire devil is interesting. Though seeing on reddit that the person he is pointing at might be Kishibe![]()
I know it's a writing quirk rather than a negative, but I hate the "big teaser leads to a disappointing reveal" gag that Fujimoto does now and again. So that dude was some nobody from begining of the series.
I know that 90% of the fanbase did not remember who he is.
Another note I remember people were saying Yoru is Makima 2.0. Yoru is basically girl failure status.
There is 2 routes I could see Fujimoto ending with part 2.
My issue with 1) it makes it feel like Asa is a damsel in distress of sorts.
- Denji going against Yoru, which leads her as the final antagonist of Part 2.
- Yoru is a wash and Asa is able to take over and they eventually go after Death which would end the series.
2) would feel rushed honestly and would rather a part 3 to really showcase how scary Death could be.
Part 2 ultimately still has the problem of pacing feeling too slow and too fast at the same time. Imo Fujimoto kind of lost scope what he wants.
Does Denji still think they are the same person? We might be in this for awhile if Fujimoto aims for Denji to pick between the two. Though I find it difficult to think why would Denji would pick Yoru. Unless something with the control devil is involved because Denji obviously has deep ties with the Control Devil.I know it's a writing quirk rather than a negative, but I hate the "big teaser leads to a disappointing reveal" gag that Fujimoto does now and again.
I'm really hanging on to Fire/Justice telling Denji that he'll have to make a choice comparable to saving the cat instead of the brother. It reminds me that Asa has had a cat motif before which was contrasted to Nayuta's love of dogs. The Justice devil also recognized Asa/Yoru from early on in the story.
So my spec on the ending is that it'll somehow force Denji to choose between saving Asa or Yoru. But it's not a complete theory, it's pure hot take from just reading the chapter and getting stuck on that bit of dialogue.
You're right about this all starting to feel rushed too...Death has kinda been supplanted by Justice/Fire within a couple of chapters, mainly because we still can't tell who the true final opponent will be. Is it Death? Yoru? Justice? I still have no clue.
I actually feel like it's harder to picture him choosing Asa, based on what we've seen and know about Denji.Does Denji still think they are the same person? If y'all think Fujimoto bouta give my son a happy ending everI actually feel like it's harder to picture him choosing Asa, based on what we've seen and know about Denji.
Yoru has been appealing to Denji's lust for a few arcs now. She's the one who kissed him (and other stuff). She's promised him more, hung out with him, and even in this chapter she exerted control at the end of the chapter. She doesn't ask him for help, she asks "do you wish to save me?" and his response is "yes, mam."
On top of that, Denji has always gotten along better with Devils (Pochita, Power, Yoru, Reze compared to sorta just Aki). He's wondered if he's still human since Himeno died and he didn't feel much.
So, it all goes back to the example from this chapter. Denji always wants/tries to do the right thing. But it's in his nature to save the cat before the human, and potentially the devil before them too.
Yeah, there's no "happy ending" if Denji has to pick between which one keeps that body. It's the same dilemma as protecting Nayuta or becoming Chainsaw Man again. It's a lose lose.If y'all think Fujimoto bouta give my son a happy ending everI'm waiting for this shyt to get dark for him
