I like this cat a lot but I'm almost positive he's signed already and probably has been for a minute. After doing some googling on the kid, a couple of things raise the red flag as to him being what you guys call an "Industry Plant":

1. The high production value of his videos over the last year or so
2. Features from Twista, Ab-Soul, and Childish Gambino from an "unknown" artist on an "independent" mixtape
3. In addition to saturating all of the online blog outlets (Complex, etc.) he has Write-ups in major outlets out of no where (Pitchfork, Billboard) because...
4. He's repped by Cara Lewis at CAA, one of the biggest artist agents at one of the biggest agencies in all entertainment
5. He's repped by a major publicity house (same as Janet, Kid Cudi, T-Pain and more)
6. His media outlet coverage of the new tape is outpacing the fan interest on social networks. There are more stories on him than there are message board threads and folks talking about him on twitter, youtube views, etc.

I think he's gonna be a great new voice in the game but independent he's not.

originally from the 'ville
feeling the mixtape... tbh I don't think he's thaaaat amazing of a rapper lyrics-wise on first listen but i like how he switches up his flow and overall the music is good.

The intro, NaNa, and Juice are my joints at the moment, we'll see if it changes

Who is dude and why is the hip hop blogosphere all on his piece all of a sudden? Never heard of dude a day in life until this week and all the usual subject internet outlets making a big deal out of it...why is this not like any other random internet rapper mixtape? What am I missing
