Chance is really showing that you don't have to make Murder a nikka music, or fukk a nikka mom music, or kidnap a nikka kids music or drug addict music.

Y'all can call him a plant all you fukkin want but I'd much prefer plants like him instead of 21, Kodak, Uzi, etc. :yeshrug:

but as the only one doing it and needing CAA to do so... isn't really making any type of mark industry wise

people with the money know its all store bought... so they aren't in many type of rush to push the next man with that same type of rap

No, he's showing the only way to make that type of music is not organic at all.

Holla at me when we atleast get back to the early to mid aughts where we atleast had Mos, Talib, Kanye, Dilated Peoples (somewhat) making noise in the mainstream.

Notice, Kendrick and Cole are nowhere to be found.

It's a game, breh. "One at a time."

I get it, and I like the message to his music but everyone's issue is that you can get through the door if you are the son of someone high up who can open all the right doors for you

He did not grind like Kanye, Lupe or even a Cole or Kendrick. Drake still dropped 3-4 tapes before becoming a sensation and it was NOT overnight like Acid Rap. He was still down South grinding and networking

Look at the other examples of positive rappers, Common, 3 Stacks, Kweli etc.... It took a decade for them to get the looks that Chance got after his 2nd tape. Chance got magazine covers, entire write ups in major newspapers, Ellen, SNL and the Grammy's just like that?!

How the fukk is "Chance the rapper" showing this when fukking J. Cole, Kendrick and Drake are some of the biggest rappers out
Are you kidding me ? was this thread made just so you can talk about how much you like Chance the rapper ?
Because it doesn't appear to be a thread discussing Alt. Hip-Hop and it's viability in the mainstream whatsoever.

The level of posting allowed in "The Booth" is

Yeah, dude is a soggy slice of milquetoast. Basura. There's nothing special or game-changing about him. He'll be forgotten just as quickly as he got here.

That said, I got no qualms with the kid.

They have been grooming chance for years
That's my issue. Labels will take the random flavor of the month rapper with a buzz, exploit them and bleed them dry. They make no effort to grow that artist and make them sustainable. They spit them out and replace them to keep the ADD rap consumer demographic placated and busy.....

They "groom" artists like Chance and position them before even exposing them to the public. They put all their resources into them, as they are a manufactured product that they can use to push a political agenda or business venture(that is why Chance is where he is!). Chance is not being pushed like a regular rap artist...

I get it, it's a business and all but these labels really think rap consumers are idiots and market Chance as everything those other rappers ARENT when it's the same palms being greased

it wasn't worth investing in rappers until now where rap is the dominant music form.

I expect to see more chance the rappers in the future.
