lol, Obama is a factor in the process of making him blow ha :dead:.
He's got a powerful agent, somehow.. A strong team = industry plant. Like calling Eminem an industry plant cause Dr. Dre backed and them him.

It's already been established who his PR team is a couple of pages back. Yes...he has a strong team behind him...but it's so obvious he has connections. It can't even be ignored.

I wouldn't even compare him to Eminem around the time he signed with Dre because he was grinding for years in Detroit and this is documented fact that many people can attest to. Plus he was dead broke around that time too. He couldn't afford PR or any of that fancy industry enhancement. It's obvious Chance comes from some degree of money...nothing against him...it is what it is.

What I'm saying is that he talked about signing with CAA like 2 years ago, he grinded and put out a mixtape that got really great reviews, built his buzz around that and had his people get him some commercials and shyt. I don't see anything odd with that.

what does that have to do with anything I wrote :heh:
You were implying that people don't know that Chance The Rapper is represented by official people, I stated that people know that.
Unless you want him to run around and drop "I have a dope agent" as an intro to every track.
Or maybe he isn't clear enough about it, anyhow I don't know why he would be. He's still independent and nikkas(Eminem does not count) has never, in history talked about their management or representation perhaps some shout out in some song.

I'm listening to "AcidRap" right now, for the first time, because of this thread, and I think it's raw as hell. I literally had never heard any of his music before today, and now Im really diggin his style. The industry didn't do it, thecoli did. However, i don't see anything wrong with him getting a push from whoever. Why is that a bad thing?
:what: this thread only exists because he got the magazine cover. That's the only reason why people are talking about him now. In fact, after the initial month or so of hype he got after he dropped the mixtape he only gets mentioned when talking about his new ventures with pop artists.

Also you gotta figure: These labels/management etc. don't invest in anyone. Some powerful people somewhere believe in Chance, they think he has the potential to blow up crazy hence the money spent.

And he's definitely a plant. Dude came from nowhere and was in every magazine, overnight. He aligned himself with the right people who actually believe in him:manny:

So he's a "plant..." If people dont like his music, they won't listen.

Or do plants have mind control?

He didn't come out of nowhere, you were not hip enough to follow what was going on with these kids.
He gathered fans with his first tape and then he dropped the second tape and it started of downloading quite fast due to the exceptional reviews and the blog space he got due to having one of the greatest booking agents in the game. As far as money spent, I don't know if there is some.

Spend on what? Most of his buzz comes from touring and reviews, which means that you are saying that he pays to be on tours and to get good reviews.

Every fukking rapper, the same thing.. "bla bla bla, money behind him, industry plant".
Who isn't an industry plant is a better question at this point. He speaks very freely, all the info about him is out there. No shady shyt like Macklemore or Wiz Khalifa.

Its just like when people say the label buys over a million albums. Like, if you have to buy a million of your artists albums to make it seem like people like him... Isn't he the wrong guy for the job?

Being a plant doesnt mean you dont have talent..
The whole plant idea is illogical. What are they planting him for? It sounds to me like a marketing strategy, that yall have chosen to dislike vocally. My whole thing is why does it matter who's pushing this guy, if you like his music? Let's say you're 100% right and he's a plant, now what? Boycott him?

What? Would you invest in someone you think didn't have any appeal or talent? fukk no. Having money behind you, getting that push by your label/management actually indicates that you do have talent as people with a record of success in the industry are seriously supporting you.

All we are saying - songs with Justin Beiber, tour with Eminem & Source cover are bigger achievements than his popularity would ordinarily garner. And as it's already widely known he got on that tour because of his connections.
All this does is give him avenues to be as big as the people behind him think he will be.
