Youre taking it a bit too far.
There isnt some system wide conspiracy to make kids idolize super thugs or effeminate...its just a different way to market an artist.

The labels know that the old way to bringing out an artist doesnt work...what they do know is that kids like to feel like they found something on their own...that they found the next big thing before it was known by everyone.
So they simply pump someone up via blogs and phony accolades.

I'm not taking it far

Do you know that some of these big labels have money and I mean big money behind prisons that are getting built?

I can't remember where exactly I read it but there was a thread here which was brought from SOHH where someone linked the information.

Anyways these label heads are sometimes owners of these private prisons.

They would have meetings with artist where they would try to figure out how to make prison seem like the place to be

Chance's rise to notiriety definitely has the stench of an Industry Plant on it. I'm someone that would be deemed to be an underground rap fan who gets all their music from the internet and I never heard about him until Acid Rap dropped and all the websites I frequent started posting/reviewing it. His buzz has literally appeared within the last 12 months.

For those who want to ask me about the difference between someone with an organic buzz and an industry plant, look at how rappers like Rapsody and Action Bronson are getting an internet buzz now after having numerous projects out over the years and then look at how rappers like Chance & Asap Rocky achieved a bigger internet buzz off of one project with no real back catalogue to show for it.

Is it fair to put A$ap in the same category though considering his sh!t waz actually dope?

This nikka's an industry plant. And probably the most egregious one.

Remember what it felt like when Drake came up...when J. Cole came next...and when Kendrick Lamar came afterward.

The buzz was crazy and you felt it in the real world. This nikka though......I don't know ANYBODY that listens to this dude.
