Let's be reality, 'plant' seems to just be another word for rappers you don't care for or don't like or a rapper who got hot without your co-sign. I get it, Chance is marketed more heavily than your favorite lean-sipping junkie or ne'er do well misunderstood miscreant. Chance did not just appear out of thin air, most of you guys just dismissed him when he was on the come up, like he wasn't getting prominent features or didn't get well received spot in Childish's mixtape back in 2012. Hell I even mentioned him a few times as someone to watch for around the time between 10 day and acid rap. I would have missed him myself if my son didn't put me on him but either way, it's weird how much pushback there is for a young Black man becoming successful by rapping about his personal flaws and life and shyt.

Question OP,

Soooo....Is Vic Mensa a plant too? What about Donnie Trumpet? NoName Gypsy? What about Mick Jenkins? How about Alex Wiley? Taylor Bennett too?

If so, :feedme: more artists from this "plant" factory. If not, I'd like to hear what those other artists that came up with Chance think about his come up. Just asking since we're doing our due diligence with the Chance analysis :manny:

nikkas will tell you kids these days weren't an internet sensation and will ignore that chance's biggest and earliest cosign was vic at a time when vic and that band was really hot. nothing about chance comes off as fake. i heard 10 day and knew he could be big, but i was shocked at how far and broad his music resonates. i know that youth talk gets throw around a bunch, but i promise you we would let all of the new school die for chance. he's the future of hip-hop, believe it or not.
