i did, and i still agree, dont fukk with a classic.

your song would prolly have more impact and lasting effect if you didnt try to remake a classic.

the bars and flow are solid, but calling it Changes 2017 and connecting it to pacs, people are going to expect something on the level of pac.

is your song garbage? not at all, you sounded solid, but if i wanna listen to something like this, ima go listen to Pac's.

if you had put those same lyrics over an original beat, and didnt connect it to Changes, youd prolly get much different and more positive reactions.

I agree with this to the fullest. Even mainstream artists should take this advice. Though I think he did a good job

Explained my thought process when I was writing it in this post. Although naming it changes 2017 might have been a little overboard. But a good portion of people (all early 20s) I played the song for so far don't even know thats pac on the beginning of the song or on the hook. they say "who is that? Is that you?" And honestly I thought everyone would know his voice and the lyrics to the song changes. I guess that makes the song kind of a backfire because I thought everyone knows pac. So now im looking at it as keeping the memory alive if there's 20 year old who don't even know who he is.

That is an original beat though :jbhmm: I threw the pac samples on there myself

I see what you're saying though. I'm working on alot of stuff right now with no rapper samples or anything. This just felt like the one to put out for the new year for me.

When I heard the beat I just kept hearing pac voice on it (didn't help that the producer named his beat changes) that's why I began my first verse with "let's talk about changes" and then after that i just couldnt stop thinking about changes in my head and used the "Black male packed cell" and other little references and the black president flip in the end. I think it's pretty clever being that Obama just finished serving two terms and nothing really changed while he was in office and racism is still as prevalent as ever .

Appreciate the feedback back breh :salute:

youre a good rapper

but I feel like the 1st verse u was trying too hard to sound like pac
2nd verse was way better, 3rd verse was good too
chorus coulda been better.. the 2pac part coulda been placed at a different part in the song rather than as the hook, maybe at the end or something
even tho the original changes(well the posthumous one) had a serious message it was still a catchy song whereas this one is just a serious depressing song

good song but it wouldve been better off not being called changes 2017 because that comes with a lot of expectations

Appreciate the in depth analysis instead of a GIF lol. I think I may have gotten too caught up in the feeling when the idea came to me and I may have been a little burned out and got lazy being that this was the 10th song I wrote and recorded in 2 days. I relied more on the Pac sample/imitations instead of establishing the premise of the song on its own legs and making a subtle pac reference at the end like you said.

But like I said in another post. A good amount of people I played this for didn't even know that was pac on the song :hhh: so maybe I can introduce them to the gawd

Maybe if I change the title to "somethings will never change" though?:jbhmm:

Lyrics are cool...beat sucks...a better pick and more passion and this could be a hit. The beat alone makes it wack. Also take out the Pac influence...nobody wants to hear your interpretation of a classic

Appreciate the feedback :pachaha:. Some people fukk with the pac interpolation though. Just tryna pay homage to one of the GOATs and talk about real life issues at the same time
