What the fukk does Varejao's Finals appearance(s) have to do with the player he is currently? This isn't reactionary. Anybody that watches Cavs games could tell you how horrible Varejao has become. He can barely move his feet on defense anymore and is incapable of contesting shots at the rim. Cleveland needed another big man to stretch the floor - not another big man who can't shoot (they've already got Mozgov and Tristan) and is a liability on offense.
Varejao was 0-2 for 1 point and played some horrifically bad defense today
Frye was 5-9 for 15 points; killing the Hornets frontcourt by dragging them all the way out to the 3-pt line, sinking four 3s and allowing the guards to drive to the rim uncontested and giving the Cavs more versatility on offense.
