according to Neil that had nothing to do with the reason why he left, Dave had total control over what happened on set.

control on set is not the issue.

they are saying the issue is they would own his material and publishing etc. They would give him $50mill, which is a lot....but chappelle wants to control how material is used, how people interpret it, etc.

Chappelle felt socially responsible and didn't want people to turn his message into a simple joke. Chappelle is trying to change to world like all comedians....

then they he coulda just kept his publishing and taken a smaller deal, basically what I'm saying is that whatever Chappelle would have said and agreed to do is what GOES...because he is the main attraction...Dave is the only person to blame here.

I feel sorry for Neil.

Just watched the whole thing and if what Neil says is true it means that basically Dave is just an egotistical insecure d1ck and the fact that we no longer have the Chappelle show anymore is because of Dave and his ego. Dave probably realized this and instead of accepting and acknowledging his own mistakes (like burning bridges with his longterm partner over money) he decides to go to Africa and quit the show.

The fact that the Chappelle show no longer exist is proof that Dave couldn't do the show without him

Dude story seemed suspect though. For one he was saying that Dave's deal was done and it was HIS deal that was holding everything up. Then was talking about how he felt he wasn't being respected enough in the negotiations with Comedy Central. And that Dave got upset with him because Comedy Central turned Dave against him. He sounded like he had an ego that played a big part in the process as well. Not saying Dave was completely innocent in it but it sounded like both sides had their issues.

I've heard/watched Neal talk about the situation on at least 4/5 podcasts and he's always holding back a little, but I get the feeling that the network tried some divide n conquer shyt with the two of them and it kinda worked.

Plus I think that "nikka logic" that a lot of us get wrapped up in actually played a part in Chappelle's decision ie all of that shyt he spewed in his Oprah interview

Part 4

Looks like the rest of the docu might be delayed some what (part 5 was supposed to come out today)

"Monday maybe, I've been looking for artists/people who can do graphics to replace 3!LL who had to leave the project. If I don't find anybody soon there is going to be a delay in the last 4 parts. "

You feel sorry for Neil :what:

Neil has done what his entire life? I know he's behind the scenes, but he acts like he's the reason the show did what it did. Neil is just a friend who was a tag along basically. As for control and publishing rights. Chappelle himself said it wasn't about the control, he had all that. But what he noticed was how his popularity was reaching the world. Somebody wrote he wanted to change the world :laff:
Nah, brothaz can joke with each other about black people. What Dave didn't like was how everyone then wanted to JOIN IN on making fun of black people and he realized that his comedy on that stage is basically c00nin.

Look at Rick James for instance. How many people know him now ONLY BECAUSE of how they portrayed him? Thats not honorable, he has a legacy that is forever tarnished because of that show. Thats not the way you want to remember a guy. Its much deeper than that tho, he didn't even reference Rick James when he was talking about it. He was just talking about how he felt making fun of black people became "cool" and he wasn't cool with that.

I'll look for the video, shouldn't take long...

Well if you look at his Avatar, I'm not sure of too many Negroes that would rock an AJ Sorprano joint :manny:

Anywayz, AJ. The quote I was looking for is in a 2hr documentary so I can't find the quote I wanted right this second. But thats ok, I foud something much better.

Dave as you may or may not know is a Muslim. I doubt that is the reason for his beliefs because Christians are at least "taught" to think the same. Do they is another question. But this will basically asnwer your question

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPYTjh7cePc[/ame]

Here's Dave basically saying how others would tell him how he was crossing a line, and he wasn't sure at the time of this video.

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTt2rvvtTxM[/ame]
But in the one I can't find this second he goes into how he felt his messages were turning into something he wasn't cool with. I'll post that here once I come across it...

Rick James participated in it
Rick James got more sense than to do something like that if he ain't feelin' it.
c'on now!!!

Then Chappelle is being a c00n for caring how white people view his jokes about black people. cause everyone on this site says if you care what white people think you a c00n. :laff:
