I figured he had good intentions but think he had too much on his plate.

If I was on I'd try to put as MANY folks as I could on, but being an Entertainer as WELL would be hard as fukk!

to successfully push and manage 20 artists you need to be behind the scenes with a team and NOBODY Ever see's you in public cause you ain't got time for entertainer shyt.

I been a Top Dawg Entertainment fan since Long term ,and I JUST found out what Top look like

Ehh. I don't agree. The artist on Dreamville that could have made noise, did make noise.

JID and Ari Lenox were the ones with the most potential and for the most part they performed that way.

Ari is strictly an R&B artist. She doesn't really have Pop style records like a SZA does. But maybe you can blame that on Cole.

JID has exceeded expectations imo. He's a great rapper, but what does he do different than any other lyrical rapper?

But I guess bigger than my criticism, what are their major labels doing on top of what Dreamville is doing? The momentum that Dreamville had with Revenge of the Dreamers 3 in 2019 was crazy. Covid may have fukked that up.

:dahell:

so Why da fukk they got a label for
Dreamville had moderate success, but Cole didn't really sign someone that could take it to the next level.

Drake tried to sign the Weeknd and Party had a good start, but ultimately just couldn't keep his momentum.

Kendrick doesn't have a traditional label. With that being said, Keem is really popular, he just doesn't release music.

I also think it's just harder to break someone in this age than it was before.

We gotta stop viewing everything through the lens of superstar success. Cole took those dudes (and lady) on multiple sold out arena tours, got them some singles that went gold, and a collab album that went gold. The more important story here is that Cole gave a bunch of artists an opportunity to create art, he never pressed them for radio records, they made multiple projects that fans loved, and when it was over he got them all paid. That's a success story. Using your leverage to help people instead of trapping some dudes in bad deals and having them bitter 10 years later.

It makes sense that CTG doesn't value this because he only values money and advancement. Nobody on Dreamville was a surefire star, lets be real. JID came in the game at damn near 30 years old. Ari Lennox wasn't built to be a star. Earthgang didn't make mainstream music. But if you liked the music why the fukk are you mad they didn't reach levels of success that were unlikely?

Because it’s the music business
