We gotta stop viewing everything through the lens of superstar success. Cole took those dudes (and lady) on multiple sold out arena tours, got them some singles that went gold, and a collab album that went gold. The more important story here is that Cole gave a bunch of artists an opportunity to create art, he never pressed them for radio records, they made multiple projects that fans loved, and when it was over he got them all paid. That's a success story. Using your leverage to help people instead of trapping some dudes in bad deals and having them bitter 10 years later.
It makes sense that CTG doesn't value this because he only values money and advancement. Nobody on Dreamville was a surefire star, lets be real. JID came in the game at damn near 30 years old. Ari Lennox wasn't built to be a star. Earthgang didn't make mainstream music. But if you liked the music why the fukk are you mad they didn't reach levels of success that were unlikely?
