I'm talking a back to back level diss
Meek made 1 tweet. Didn't even talk about a battle or nothing
Drake came with 2 complete songs for him. Mentioned by name. Performed it everywhere. Rode it into the ground
nikkas dissing him in songs and he give half a subliminal bar. Again. Nobody really cares about it.
I want to see someone in his lane, around his age, in his era... Get in a full out battle with this nikka and make it interesting.
Who could diss him right now and have the world saying "oh he GOT to respond" and force his hand?
There's plenty of people out that could put pressure on him if they released a full fledged diss track that actually resonated and mattered to the hip hop populace...Jay, Kanye, kendrick, Cole, nicki, Wayne, meek, Sean, etc...some of those have already had subliminal back and forths with drake real and imagined...Meek he went heads up against, came out the victor, and mad nerds on the Internet have been upset about it making excuses as to how and why it happened for a year now
what it really comes down is all these imaginary "these are the high holy rules of hip-hop battle engagement that MUST be followed" these people talk about are bullshyt and they don't even pretend to apply them equally...this Joe Budden shyt is obvious, for all the world to see, some gimmick shyt he made up to drum attention for upcoming album, podcast, and overall brand...the same brand he's been building after failing as your typical mainstream rapper, and refashioning himself as some kind of underground hero by pandering to gulliable messageboard rap smark sensibilities...Drake is damn near the walking, talking, breathing personification of cliché rap smark popular mainstream rapper backlash...so granted, there's not a single cheaper pop to be had than dissing him...but had he tried this stunt on anyone other than Drake, half these people doing the most posting in these threads would call it as the bullshyt that it is instead of this laughable "but the rules of hip hop DEMAND you confront all comers on the lyrical battlefield no matter how transparent their intentions are or how much a waste of time it is" shyt they're on... he dissed kendrick and it was dismissed and ignored like it should be. ..(not to mention all the other emcees that came at k dot like meek and Papoose, that somehow these made up hip hop laws didn't apply to apparently cause the smarks ain't sit and pretend he had to respond to them)...
I know people really really hate drake, I get it...I understand the sentiment...I know drake haters are sitting around waiting for the rap game Azar Ahai to emerge and drop "The Diss that was Promised" ...but pretending that this buddens stunt is anything that what it obviously is, makes me know not to take dudes seriously...
