true indeed. Another thing I am looking at too is presentation. Should these black award shows have a dress code or allow the people to come "dressed as themselves"

All in all, I do wish more big named artist came out to these shows and give it credence.

I think he's trying to focus on the outside validation aspect more than anything and I agree with that sentiment. He's not offering any real solutions or alternatives other than saying to have more black directors make good movies.
