He's in med school now apparently
Pretty smart actually. Every month I see another one of my producer or songwriter friends who actually have some success in the industry post a FB status complaining about not getting paid for something or how they're ready to quit. These are people who have produced & written some pretty known songs. The issue is most of them have no Plan B... no Degree... nothing solid as a backup so Music is all they know & they're struggling & always stressed.
I had picked a path in Health Services (Sociology) that has always aided my experience in the Entertainment Industry & was always a Fail-Safe just in case things dried up. You're starting to see more & more artists, producers & songwriters coming out after years of success saying they're broke. Don't get it twisted, there are plenty thriving in their careers but it's like labels know how to sniff out DESPERATION & sign those acts to trash contracts meanwhile they have to offer someone like John Legend who had a job & a career something that could pull him away from that & have him do music full-time. Most dudes sign for peanuts because they don't have a pot to piss in yet there are plenty who have stable situations that labels have to compensate contracts for.
These Execs know who they can pull what with at all times, trust me...
