I’m not saying it’s cool. Shyt, I don’t even use the word. Growing up, half the Mexicans I knew would claim they were Caribbean Latino. With 69, I think dude is like half Puerto Rican or something. See my point is not a matter of who says it, but a matter of all races to just stop using the word.

There's Afro-Latinos, so that is not the point. Calling yourself Black come with all the aches and pains, not only the benefits. Even if he is "half PR", that doesn't mean he's of Afro-Latino heritage, which he's obviously not. And no, I do not see your point.

Tell me, is 69 described as a negro in Mexico or PR? Did he ever describe himself as Black in any shape or form?

It's not like he's Crazy Legs, Rammellzee or Joe Conzo. And yes, I go way back to the earlier days of Hip Hop, to show the contrast.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but I don't get your point, or I think we're both missing each others. There are afro-latino's who dont consider themselves black but still use the word. I'm just saying the use of the word is stupid and should cease amongst all races. I have cousins who are half puerto rican or half dominican (bunch of friends too). Just cause ur "afro-latino or mixed with black" doesn't mean your going to have a fro. Some look whiter than Pete Wentz (he has black ancestry by the way) and others are darker than Tego Caldderon; but the funny thing is, all of them have black roots. I know a bunch of what we like to call "mixed" kids that you would never think they had black in their family. Mexican or not, regardless of a persons roots, we just need to abolish the word. My point was, it's just impossible to go arond checkng people about using the word, cause you never know where a person's DNA comes from. We have to all just stop using the word. I don't use it, wife doesn't, my kids wont use it, my immediate family doesn't use it, you should try the same

You are trying to make it unnecessary complicated, since this is not about Afro-Latinos who do not consider themselves Black, which is mostly based on cultural things. This is about a dude who is not Afro-Latino, but is using n* this n* that, will making a slew of money over it and Black folk are trying to justify it.

The second point is, that not every Afro-Latino has Afro-textured hair and that is true, but they do conform to this because of cultural heritage. And some point you do not lean towards African and there is where it stops. Latin America or not. If they aren't referred to as negro in Spanish they should not use the n-word, since it's derivative of negro/ negroe, which is a reference for Black.

Black people check each other one a daily basis and have no problem doing so.

Should we ban the word all together? It's history and there is no form that can justify the usage.

Tekashi was raised by his Mexican side. You already know what time it is.

This dumbfukk has nothing to do with being Afro-Latino anything. All he does is mocking Black people and Black culture, with horrible wack rap!

I feel like this thread is going to get to the bottom of this. keep going.

Yes, it time to put an end behind the BS. 69 fits this narrative! And I am not even going to post on "Memín Pinguín". You can look that up yourself, but some of the history is also explain in the last video in this post. And no, I do not get Black people a pass to use it, as the more I do not give non-Black people a pass.

If 69 is of "Afro-Latin-Mexian descent", let him invest heavy in the Afro-Mexican community, in Mexico. And speak up against injustices done against Afro-Mexican community (his supposed community). He can do this on a political platform and or in rap (conscious-rap). The day he does that, we may reconsider some of the rhetoric.

I get what you're saying, and I'm not trying to make an argument over who should use it. I understand the history of the word in my culture and community. I always thought it was dumb. The whole argument about who can and can't use it is dumb to me and will continue to be. There are a lot of mixed people out there who are raised in a black environment have nothing but black friends, but share no trace of 'black' genes but have a black parent. If i go up up to them and say, "hey you cant use the word, you're not black" but then they say "I have a black parent I can use it"; that whole argument is ass-backwards to me. Like I said, everyone should just stop using the word.

And what is the historical significance to that? As you can see, I posted historical significance to the n* word. Those of Arab descent in the hood, came to snatch the bag in the hood and disrespect Black people at the same time. And even call them n* word!

How are you going to rationalize that one away? hmm?

I showed 69 his parents and there is absolutely nothing Afro-Mexican or Afro-PR about them. I showed A tribe Called Quest and how the word was used in songs in its inception. The whole 1 parent thing is getting old and doesn't hold water any more. Let 69 and his cohorts make spic-songs in his Mexican tradition. It's not that hard to do.

If Black people can stop each other over ridiculous and petty thing, Black people should not say stuff like we can't stop it. And those Blacks who are with him need to be held accountable as well. They are good for nothing anyway.

I am not saying that you don't know it, but there's those who don't know it, so it needs to be rubbed in their faces.

A tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip (from a real rapper and one of the best ever).

Falling out between the dome of the white man's mouth
It means that we will never grow, you know the word dummy
Other nikkas in the community think it's crummy
But I don't, neither does the youth cause we
Em-brace adversity it goes right with the race
And being that we use it as a term of endearment

nikkas start to bug to the dome is where the fear went
Now the little shorties say it all of the time
And a whole bunch of nikkas throw the word in they rhyme
Yo I start to flinch, as I try not to say it
But my lips is like the oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray the

A precedent was never set and its too late.
The only solution is to stop using the word or limit the way you use it in everyday speech.

Arabs send the money they make in the Black community, back to their native home-countries, so there is no we're all in this together. But I get what you're saying. And at the same time Black-Arabs are being treated horrible over there. It's all a con game they Black with Black people!

But it's never too late to shoot at Black people each day and everyday over dumb stuff? The illogical rationally is mind boggling crazy. But yeah, the word should be limited to the museum of Black history.

Due to dumb Black ignorance a few elderly Black people have been disrespected and approached in hostile manner by Mexicans who called them the n*word. This we "we beez weak and can't do nothin' becuz is too late", is getting pathetic. Go call their elders spic and tell me if they were cool with it. See how Black people are being treated in Latin America. This should give you insight in what's ahead for Black people if this continues.
