I dunno breh. I'm just happy things are nowhere near as bad as they were 20+ years ago, though, even in those places.

Aside from those three in the #1 spot it's always random ass places that make these top 10 lists though.

i never understood why camden never had anybody blow.

off the top of my head, i cant even think of anybody that made underground noise from there. they must be talent-less.

Think about it, in the 90s and 80s rap was still new and anyone could really get into the rap game.
Nowdays its so controlled and so many politics and money involved that you need to really be racked up to even get your foot in the door. And its only one way for a young kid to get that kind of money to start his career :sas2:

anyone can get in now.

soulja boy got in with a laptop, renaming mp3's on p2p networks, my space, and maybe some pirated software, lol.

The fact that renowned studio gangsters like Mobb Deep, Onyx and Dr. Dre were terrorising the industry tells you all that you need to know about the rappers in the 90s.

Yo, wtf is going on in DC, Detroit and New Orleans that these nikkas keep going back and forth as the murder capital??? :dwillhuh:
nikkas gotta chill :snoop:

that's kinda old news. DC ain't the murder capital any more...they gentrified a lot of that out, lol.

Detroit, b-more, Cleveland hold it down. but no matter what....it's pretty much black people getting murdered in major cities either by n!ggas or police.

Pac, Big, Nas......that generation walked through the fire more than most.

During the height of the crack/gang epidemic, they were teens....probably one of the most dangerous times to be a young & black, period.

Thing is, their parents were more conscious than the modern parent.Their parents came through the "revolutionary 60's"...children of freedom fighters...Black Panthers...and the Elijah Muhammad/Malcolm X era NOI...etc

So being educated & having knowledge was still the theme. Those parents were around in the "BC" era (Before Crack)

The parents of the modern rapper are from the "AC" (After Crack) era....the crack/gangs destroyed that link to the past.So while they may be more "wild", they don't have it between the ears like the previous generation of rappers did. That racial pride wasn't directly passed down to them like it was with Pac/Nas for example. That's why the soul is missing.

A bunch of Sonny's and no Michaels.....but hey, Sonny was fun while he lasted:manny:

Good post. Generation X been through some shyt. especially if you were poor and black. Sounds even worse than Jim Crow, historically speaking. All the crime and none of the unity.
