He made a very valid point but people hate him for appearing to be a c00n to them. Once you get pass the dislike and being upset because he referenced Tomi (not needed to make his point tho) you will realize we do not have platforms on the same scales as her show. I've seen some of her facebook posts have 7 million views or more. This is the age of social media. How many of you actually watch the news? Now, I'll admit that I watch the news more than I watch regular tv shows but I'm probably older than most of you. We have twitter and links available to read content and have videos on demand opposed to waiting on the nightly news to come on. If we have people (that we ALL have to support) with the same platform that Tomi's ignorance has created we can start showing ourselves in a different light. If you ever took the time to watch mainstream media consistently you would see that the way black people are depicted you would understand how it fuels racism and lost of empathy from people outside of our communities. You think a white person cares when a black guy is shot by the police if they have been watching news over the last several years, plastering our mugshots, focusing on all the details of our crimes? Hell no, she will feel like whomever it was might have been a criminal anyway. We have to control our narrative and create the conversation around our issues. There are a few social media/internet based shows that I enjoy but we dont support our own well enough to see it go mainstream. Tell me a black blog site, youtube based, tv show etc that gets 7 millions views or more? Anyway, if you know any on any scale, drop some links.
