I get both perspectives. I just think Lavar needs to STFU The disdain people have for HIM, will be transferred to his son very fast.

Chuck acknowledged him wanting to cheer for his son etc. At this point to say his son is gonna be better than the man that historically lit the league on fire for 2 years is slightly insane and puts undue hype on the kid

Can't imagine how tough it must be to deal with somebody like that when they're your parent, have done everything for you to help put you in the position you're in...but can then put you in a compromising position too if your mentality isn't exactly like theirs.

What if Lonzo ain't even thinking about that bullshyt, not trying to put that kinda pressure on himself, not wanting to deal with the comparisons, etc.? It's either deal with that or make things really awkward with your father, who obviously loves the spotlight. Tough choice that I don't envy.

The ring shyt aside (it's just low hanging convenient fruit) he did make a good point. Chuck's statement, "just because you say some shyt doesn't make it right" applies to himself as well. He always tries to shield his bullshyt with the "that's my opinion" copout. But now he's calling someone else's opinion stupid because he doesn't like/agree with it. I personally don't see the point in saying some of the stuff Lavar says and I wouldn't do it if I were him, but who knows maybe he's right. Maybe he is the next Richard Williams. At this point in time there is really no basis to call him stupid or say that he's wrong. Worst case scenario, he's gonna have 3 sons that have the option to get a free education and a spot in the NBA so he clearly knows something.

I cringed listening to his interview on the Herd earlier today. Dude is one of those dads who does entirely too much.
Fam said that if his son came to him and told him to chill out a bit on the extra-ness he said "I'll tell him to move out because he aint no son of mine. My boys aint built like that. That gon ride with dad even if im wrong. I raised him, fed him clothed him so if he wanna be grown then he can move out" I'm paraphrasing a bit but that was the meat of his reply. Dude is crazy.
Sounds like standard old school black father talk too me :pachaha:.

I heard that interview too.

I know we got nikkas in this thread who's pops talk like that

lonzo or whoever the oldest is need's to tell his dad to shut the fukk up :mjlol:

I don't even fukk with barkley but this nikka talking too much every week this nikka in the news for something else he done said :mjlol:

You want him to disrespect his father :hhh:

Quite frankly his father sounds crazy as fukk. Wouldnt be shocked if that turned into a Marvin Gaye situation if that hypothetically happened

This dude even play college ball?
Yeah at Washington State

I hope he realizes his son might end up in Brooklyn with the nets and might be trash in the pros going against kyrie, Beal, wall, derozan, lowery..

Barkley battle hall of famers and dominated many of them as well..

So don't talk shyt till your kid do shyt

Don't the Celtics have their pick?

Liangelo shouldnt even be playing at UCLA, he barely a 3 star prospect. Dude wont play in the league. The younger one is putting up numbers with a gimmicky play style and gimmicky system. Jury still out on him. So saying shyt "all 3 of my sons gonna go to the lakers and change the league"..thats a unfounded statement and people are fair in criticizing him.
