exactly. I'd feel bad for Lonzo if that nikka wasnt about to sign a million dollar contract but down the line when he's on his own and has a fat bank account, they are going to have to have a man to man talk about this if this continues over the course of his career. I'm talking about when Lonzo is like 30 or something and established in all facets of his life. Many fathers dont really respect their kids as men until they're at least 25+ which is why Lavar feels so comfortable taking advantage of his boys right now.

the only way I see Lavar falling back is if/when he starts to fukk up the money which is very realistic.

actually nothing ball's pops has said was stupid. not one thing.

he has said what? He's better than steph. is that true today? No. will that be true tomorrow? MAYBE. and its more of a could happen vs hell naw... just because of how he's raised lonzo ball and how lonzo ball loves to play basketball. see its one thing to have a crazed parent pushing you to do something. its another when you actually love to be pushed at the same thing your parent is pushing you towards. thats a deadly combination that usually turns into a great player.

why do yall think steph is so good. its because his pops was a very very good nba player who pushed his son. but his son also wanted to be pushed. this does not happen often in life. usually its either the parent aint pushing that hard. or the parent is and the kid isnt. so it looks like the parent is pushing their kid to do something they dont want to do. living through their kids. this is not the case with these balls. THEY LOVE basketball TOO. just like their father.

yall dont understand this. THis family has been doing this since at least lavar balls time. he had two twin brothers lavell and lorenzo ball. they were big time all city players in Los Angeles running around with back to back city championships in one of the toughest cities to play in at the time.

They didnt pan out because they didnt LOVE the game like lavar or even their father did/wanted them to. I know this because i know them personally. lavar was the older bro who use to try to push them . but i realized early they didnt want it like that. even though they were naturally good at hoop and huge for kids in high school.

lavar got lucky and had 3 kids who love the game as much as he does. they obsess over it just like him. thats a great thing to share with your mother or father. their mother is like 6'1. she probably played ball too. this aint no game yall. this was by design.

Lonzo is 6'6, very athletic, and he seems to right now make his teammates better and has that winning thing that some very good players just dont have. he can do everything on the court thats needed to be done. yall dont notice he never takes mid range jumpers. this is also by design. the game has changed and basically said the mid range jumper is a waste of a shot. so its either a layup/dunk/something in the paint for a super high fg% chance or a 3pt shot. thats exactly what he does. 3s or paint. this again my friends is by design.

His other son dropped 90+ points. do yall understand what we're talking about here?

This is Mr Williams. The Williams Sister's father. Same crazy. making the same so called crazy promises about his children's greatness. and he was right. DO NOT DOUBT Lavar ball about his kids. DOnt do it. assuming no major injuries. odds are at least 2 of these kids will end up being at worse very good nba players. thats at worse.

Lets talka bout lonzo's size and athletic ability again. 6'6, athletic, and can shoot the 3 from NBA range off the dribble or off the curl on the catch and shoot. can he shoot like curry? Nope. is he the scorer that curry always has been? Nope. doesnt want to be or need to be. he's a do all point guard. he's jason kid with a jumper fresh out of college. he's magic with a jumper fresh out of college(the passes aint as flashy). whatever team he goes to he will make them a better team the moment he gets their barring injury.

and lastly. all the dad's talk is not putting more pressure on his sons. its actually taking it off of them. Chess not Checkers. guess who's getting all the interviews? Lavar. Guess who's taking all the hits? Lavar.

No one is really talking to his sons. his sons are shutting up and balling. let pops run his mouth so they never have to. its actually pretty genius if you think about it.

Worst case? Thats the best case scenario (likely more of a pipe dream.)

Only the oldest one has certified NBA potential at this point, and there's already been articles about Lonzo's dad potentially hurting his draft stock by running his mouth.

That is valid. They should all at least get scholarships and if the oldest bro lives up to the hype they will all get a shot in the league but that is indeed a pipe dream (until it happens and then it becomes prescient). However, articles mean about as much as what Lavar says. Until the draft happens we can't say what impact, if any, he has on his son's draft stock. Until the kid gets to the league we can't say how outrageous his father is being (despite the fact that most of us think he is on some other shyt). I appreciate people doing things differently and taking risks even if I don't necessarily agree with what they are doing.

Exactly who I came in here to mention. You've got a bunch of guys in here shytting on a dad showing confidence in his sons and making claims that are nowhere near as outlandish or premature than a guy like Williams from Compton claiming his daughters will be the best tennis players in the world before either had really even broken into professional tennis. Yeah, I'm aware Williams received hate from the media in his day, but there's something to be said for a parent's faith in their child being a positive. And honestly, I know Barkley talks just to talk nowadays, but why is he entertaining what a college basketball player's dad has to say? If Lonzo himself said it, I could understand.

Plus, what is he going to cost them? If his kids end up being trash, that's on them. Him hyping them up isn't going to affect their abilities to get drafted or their abilities to get contracts. Their play will. Some crab ass nikkas are gonna hate on them because their dad talked a lot? Basketball and haters go hand in hand, just look at half the threads on the first page of this thread. The most hated player in the NBA is also the best/most accomplished. If Ball can't handle the pressure of scrutiny he might as well finish off whatever degree he's working on and get a 9-5 job. There's a reason the Williams sisters were/are so great. Besides the athleticism, they were the two most mentally tough players out there.

How Richard Williams brilliantly guided the careers, lives of his daughters Venus and Serena
The problem is, mediocre players don't get the benefit of the doubt in situations like this. If his kids are at least really good, they'll be fine no matter what. Anything less than that and teams will start considering whether they want to deal with the trouble of dealing with their father. All in the media, all in the videos trying to tell the organization what they need to be doing, bringing unwanted attention, ala Miko Grimes.
