These guys are so dumb. Same breed of people who think Grizz trading Gay wasnt a good idea. King of Analytics Hollinger has aced every move he's done as GM, using analytics, but i bet chuck loves the grizzlies though

pretty much. you hear the same shyt from some dinosaur baseball announcers still. how you can call the team who is like 5th in defensive efficiency a bad defensive team just means your analysis is flat out ass. these guys really out here thinking teams like the grizz, blazers, spurs, hawks, etc arent using advanced stats in preparation and gamplanning for their teams lineups?
its just people poo poo'ing something they arent in the know about, as if they cant use analytics in conjunction with some of the other ways to analyze the game to try and better yourself or your team. you just cant take a word barkley says seriously when he says something like "the rockets are the worst defensive team in the league." just being blatantly ignorant, rather than delving a lil deeper into the game he is covering and finding more tools to use in his analysis. points per possession isnt even advanced anymore, its as fukking basic a concept as it gets

Grizz were close to a 60 win team before Hollinger even came on board. Analytics have definitely stamped their place but its talent to put it in motion that makes you a championship team.

basketball is a complextion of the talent in the game sport.
you can't really use analytics wholeheartedly to win in basketball like baseball.
you can not assemble a bunch of middle of the road no talents in bball and use analytics to win in bball.
you could pull it in baseball, but not in bball.

A's aint winning no world series
actually the Grizz were good before he got there. and he almost fukked it up when he tried to get them to play a fast pace offense early last year and the team lost alot of games early. then they went back to their grind it out low post game and were back as contenders. that cac had nothing to do with the grizz success.
what about it was dumb? what he said was true. analytics is just some shyt cacs who couldn't play made up so they could have a seat at the table. at the end of the day analytics don't win you championships. having the best players do just like it always been. miami ain't win cause of analytics. they won because they had 3 of the best players in the game. san antonio ain't win cause of analytics. they won cause they had the most talent 1-12 in the league. and so forth.
when's the last time the A's or some moneyball squad won a world series? its teams that got the most talent than win the chip. analytics is just some shyt for white nerds who could never play ball and want affiliation with sports.
