What he said about Defund the police is 100% correct though..... When they defund the police and scale back, it wont be in all these white people and rich athletes neighborhoods. It will be in poor black neighborhoods. When that happens, those people in those neighborhoods will suffer for it.
Defund the police and BLM are both statements that aren’t exactly straight forward and they are meant to grab attention due to this.
Imo BLM was perfect, cause it said everything or the only thing it wanted to say and helped shed a lot of light to the cause (now the fact that it was an organization that probably a majority of black people disagree with in other political and social questions is another discussion that agents and opps are trying to use). The defund statement is so broad that it might be negative because this is about investing in communities instead of investing in cops to take care of the deprived people of the community. It’s about reducing the influence of gang culture by providing equal opportunities, not about arresting gang members. And it’s also about raising awareness of how wack they are. Basically the opposite of what we all agreed on in the 90s, it’s probably cheaper and more humane to invest in communities than investing in police to grab people from communities that had a lack of investments.
And on. But this message doesn’t seem to be understood by people not even most black people and certainly not by the people that regulate the budgets, the police, politics etc. It just makes people look like we hate the basic idea of any type of police officer. Which effectively makes it harder to change the police and in the extension police officers.
