Can Dwight's body produce the results that are required for him to deserve a max contract? I don't think so...

I still think the problem is primarily his body after the back injury (just because you no longer feel pain doesn't mean your issue is fixed) and that Dwight does'nt want to share the spotlight with anyone. He wants to be "The Man" not "The Man II". It showed in LA and now it's showing in HOU.

Nah, he's opting out. He just so happened to get that spot on TNT the same day that Kenny interviewed for head coach of the Rockets? :comeon:

They probably told Kenny: "Look, we like what you're saying and KD to Houston would be great but we gotta move Dwight first in order for it to be possible and no team has yet expressed interest in offering him the max that he's looking for because they don't believe he's healthy.."

Kenny was like:

I got you, leave it to me. :steviej:
If I take care of that tonight, will you bump me up on your list? :youngsabo:

here's the issue with what dwight said. he said "i've already started working out. because i need my body to be right so i can dominate."

ok.. here's the issue with that. yes your body has to be right so If you're mind is right then you can dominate.

lets go over that again. your body has to be right so if you're mind is right you can dominate.

the true knock on dwight is that after all of his training with great bigs (pat ewing, yao, hakeem, mchale). he is no better than he was in orlando. no better on the offensive end. his game has not progressed. and that has zero to do with the injury. the injury took away some of his athleticism. but it didnt touch his mind. he's still missing the mental portion of the game. yet he still thinks its all about athleticism and strength(take care of my body and everythang will be ok.) no everything wont be ok....unless you are admitting you're not smart enough/good enough to be a #1 guy FINALLY. unless you're admitting you're not smart/good enough to be a #2 guy. you're actually a #3 on a ring team. if dwight admits this, and gets paid like a #3, but trains his butt off to get his body right. yes he could possibly win a title. but if he trains and thinks just cause he fixed his body all of a sudden he's a #1 or even a 1B. he's never going to win anything in that scenario.

When kenny said you are who you are and he said a lion is going to be a lion and a hyena is going to be a hyena. you know good and well they all know dwight aint no lion. thats not disrespect. its the truth. we've seen enough of dwight to know who he isnt. that means its time for dwights ego/brain to accept this fact. train his butt off, smile all day long like he likes to do and be a quiet 3rd fiddle.

I can't believe people can't see that this is exactly what's going on. This interview is basically confirmation that he's leaving Houston as long as some team offers him a nice contract.

We have a green light for KD now! :blessed:

AND SOME NERD WHO FELL FOR IT ACTUALLY HAD THE NERVE TO NEG ME FOR THAT REVELATION @Z-Bo's Deep Thoughts

This is the shyt that bothers me about the constant Dwight (or any athlete) hate. Like why do bums like Gortat and Chandler Parsons or people who have never accomplished shyt get to have an opinion on what Dwight Howard needs to get better?

Anyone can have an opinion. But when people get branded as "losers" or "failures" you gotta look at the person who's giving the opinion. What have they done...

Never understood the hate on Dwight either but from what i understand some people are just predisposed to hate so if there is a hate bandwagon out there to jump on they' already got a universal pass to jump onto all hate trains :manny:
I mean let's look at it logically, guys. Get the emotional/womanly aspec out of the discussion for a minute
  • First some hated him because he's goofy and likes to laugh. ok...
  • Then they hated him because he "stole" Shaq's moniquer. Shaq apparently patented 30 moniquers when he joined the league
  • Then i they started ahting him because he wanted to leave Orlando
  • Then they started hating him because he couldnt make up his mind quick enough about leaving Orlando
  • THen lakers fans hated the guy because he didnt wanna go down with or help rebuild their sinking sh!p

Find me why Dwight is literally Public Enemy #1 out there? Meanwhile:
  • Kobe raped a woman
  • Mike Tyson raped a woman
  • Barkley spit on a kid, kicked an african opponent while playing in the Olympics and said "slavery wasnt that bad"
None of them are as hated as as Dwight. Black people, i tell you. :russ:

I think that is why they are saying he should opt out so he can get one last decent contract. We never know what might happen, he can get injured next season and might never have an opportunity at big money again. One of the teams will throw a good contract at him, there are way too many teams who need a C and have max money. I think Portland might do it especially after this years success.

Maybe, but he looked like shyt this season and he's clearly on the downside of his career, plus, he has a cancer rep. In a league gravitating away from post play, where is he fitting in? Why would Portland fukk up their chemistry?

He absolutely needs to opt for many reasons but you posted one in your own post. What sense would it make to wait an extra year to get a deal when you feel like he looks worse physically every year? If that is the case wouldn't he be worth even less next year?

Because if he can show that he's physically fine again, a team would be more apt to give him a long-term deal. I really can't see him getting more than three years from anybody. He's due for like $23 million next season. Are we sure he'd even get that over two years right now?
