The other day I was listening to Winter Warz on Spotify and Cappadonna’s one verse was better than anything I’ve ever heard out of Kendrick Lamar’s whole career.

Hip hop just isn’t the same and it’s okay to admit that. The quality has fallen off.

The same way rock music in 2025 doesn’t match up to what it was in the 1970s.

While I enjoy Charleston Chew's ignorant clips, I don't care what he listens to. He can listen to dubstep for all I care.

He's not far off...

And if you're from the south you know we have.......a preference!

Our prejudice is right up there with the prejudice NY had in the 90s.

Oh course a couple of Kendrick songs are so huge that everyone is playing them. But in general...CW not wrong for the average southern person.

I heard from a promoter that there were several cities in Florida where Kendrick canceled shows because he couldn't sell the tickets. Unless he brought someone like kodak too. We are very closed minded down here to musical variety. If its a smash hit...we'll listen to it...but it's not being played in hood clubs and house parties.

Hard to articulate it...

i know exactly what you talking about. and charleston is doing a big generalization but he not that wrong. I think it only applies to certain generations. not sure how prevalent it is among younger millennials and gen z, but I certainly know it's there among gen x and partially older millennials.

I'm not from the South, but West Coast Hip-hop and Southern Hip-hop have always been simultaneously associated with each other and it seems like people in the South are more willing to listen to West Coast Hip-hop (and vice versa) than they would be to listening to the East Coast, and in this day and age, Gen Z and young Millennials don't care as much for regional dikkriding as the older gens of the past.

Just did a search and came across a interview and Charleston was saying he just don't like "coast" rappers and I'm guessing that means west coast.

Kendrick hot right now. Hope he continue to succeed myself.

The South gonna support their own period…

I respect their system of them always playing their artists records before anyone else’s. I don’t think they should put their own on the back burner while playing Kendrick and whoever is hot at the moment.

I remember Snoop explaining that in the interview with DJ Green Lantern.
