Some of these people, especially media adjacent, are also operating out of absolute fear. Think about how easy it is nowadays to track literally anyone down. And if you’re willing to lose your own life, unless the target has security the kind you’d only see with heads of state, there’s little you can do except for shelter behind walls and live like a hermit.

I like the spirit of this, but there's a strong argument to be made that it's a bad strategy at this point, and both turning off the base, while not gaining any new allies.
