Just expanding on this as it's relevant to this board -
The BothSiders on here keep leaking with their inner monologue conflicts when they primarily focus on the perceived faults of Liberals. They internalize the debate they have over their fight with the threat to their Black masculinity and religious beliefs (from The Left) vs. the threat to their humanity being Black (from The Right), and they struggle to articulate exactly where they stand and so they end up playing a character to up appearances, which typically on an anonymous msgboard is one that protects their masculinity.
They know despite being Right-adjacent with their moral compass (Christian principles of a Black household: traditional gender roles and opposition to same-sex relationships) they can't appear to come across as being with the whiteys at that end of the political spectrum because it'll give up their position, not even realizing it's obvious to anyone that's actually paying attention that they bleed Conservatism.
It just goes to show that despite how hard folks may try to distance themselves from standing next to demons like Kirk, they inevitably end up finding themselves standing right alongside them if they've been conditioned to only exist under that same higher power.
This is a top 15 post in coli history. Religion and specifically in America and when it comes to black folk Christianity is a liability to any form of social progress the way its being coopted by both the opressor and those oppressed. All them missionary type operations from Europe/America spreading disease literally and figuratively in the form of religion is bearing fruit all over the world with these pro alt right movements.
Expanding further:
The major stumbling block in this space for young people is the same it has always been. It is the implicit assumption that they are taught, that certain things are inherently conservative/"white people things":
- family stability
- a sense of morality
- an understanding of social ties, communal engagement and law
And those are not. They are human concerns. Every group you can name on this planet looks to evaluate what those mean for them, and puts those things into practice to their benefit. In short...they have a standard and they abide by it.
In the vacuum of having no agreed-upon standard to follow for the benefit of your people - too many supposedly-grown people are at a loss to even who their people are - the infections like pseudo-religions and corporatism/consumerism and whatever else can move in to fill those spaces as they always have.
You cannot shirk your responsibility for having/maintaining a standard to the benefit of your people, and then lament on the back end that there is no standard that the younger ones follow. You didn't teach them any, you didn't enforce any - "freedom" spoon-feeding firmly in place - so you get what you get.
You are not them, and they are not you. Recognize their infection and excise it from yourself rightthehellnow.
Smarten up.
