Atlanta is in better proximity to shyt and just amazing all around. The hype, reality of it and the traffic etc make it overrated. It has way too many extremes for no reason, other than just living out its name. You'll have shyt dumb cheap for no reason, then obscenely expensive with no benefit too.

I visited Atlanta again last weekend. I go regularly at this point to visit fam that recently moved down there however I don't like it. Place seems so unsafe. I grew up in the hood of NJ but ATL is mad different. From the airport to downtown it seems like I'm ready to get robbed at any moment. Maybe I'm missing decent areas but I don't see the hype.

You should definitely protect your safety and refuse to come back here. In fact you should encourage your family to move.
