And those same people will tell you you can't do it
Exactly. I like to think of it like this... If there's a bunch of people who did it already, who's to say you couldn't be the next one up? Folks make fun of aspiring rappers all the time, but we also forget that dudes like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Jay Z, Eminem, J. Cole, Wale, Lupe Fiasco and a bunch of other folks were once underground kids looking for their shot to blow and putting work day in and day out. Only difference is, they never quit and eventually their perseverance paid off. To become an expert, you had to be a beginner at some point. Every Sensei was once a Grasshopper, and every flower that's blossomed was once an insignificant seed buried under the soil.
People focus on learning the advanced stuff, thinking they're ahead of the game, when they're wrong. You master your fundamentals and THEN you work your way up. If you have your basic skills at an extremely proficient level, you have an advantage of learning and comprehending the advanced material. That's what 'talent' is, and that's why I think believe talent is more learned-skill than innate.
what if you dont have any dreams anymore?
Well. My theory is, either you accomplished everything you've wanted to do in life, grew up thinking that dreams are childish and that adults don't believe in those things, you tried and failed tragically, or you were bullied about it and ended up blocking it out of your mind. Cause with the way life has so much for us out there, it's crazy for me to think that one can live with having NO dreams or aspirations. But that's only a personal theory of mine, so don't put too much stock into it.
