I still don’t like the fact that they put that #1 contender stip on Swerve-Rico.

If Rico wins then Cope is winning because it wouldn’t make any damn sense to have Rico vs. Mox (or Christian if he cashes in). So obviously if Rico wins then Cope is winning.

It wouldn’t make much sense to me to have Swerve vs. Cope. It’s not unusual for AEW to do face vs. face but still isn’t something they are likely to do. Swerve can always heel it up for a program vs. Cope, but he’s not going to get heel heat because no one really wants to hate or boo him except Triple H.

As far as I see it, the only way this match doesn’t tip the finish of the title match is if Swerve wins and then they have Christian cash in.

I honestly don’t know what’s gonna happen with the main title picture. However, I don’t see Rico winning, especially since he won the first match.

It’s not unheard of in AEW, especially if they are going to do a three-match series.

Swerve beat Hangman the first two times, but Hangman won the final match. Swerve winning the second was particularly surprising because 1) it’s unusual and 2) it was Hangman’s signature match of Texas Death

Takeshyta has two wins over Omega, Omega likely winning the series capper this weekend.

And with the tease of Nana turning on Swerve…if that happens, Swerve and Rico are definitely not done with each other.

But I am expecting Swerve to win and then either Mox or Christian to emerge as champ, but very much more likely Mox. Like I’m going 90% Mox, 7% Christian, 3% Cope.

Never can really say never in wrestling but I just don’t see any scenario other than Mox winning as being particularly likely.

That’s not the point. The point is usually the winner of the next match isn’t the same. This is only the second singles match for Omega/Take in AEW. Same with Rico/Swerve. A third singles match is the rubber match, so it makes no sense to have someone lose twice before the third match.

it was different for Swerve/Hangman because that feud was heat, and maybe they are gonna have Rico win, But it puts Swerve in a weird position. He’s been losing often in big matches and with Nana’s gear playing a part in this, it means they’re likely breaking them up. At this moment, it doesn’t look good for Swerve’s character, who is still over.

Watching parts of the old Revolutions now that they are on Max, Hangman has really put in the work to pack on the muscle. Man was still built like an cruiserweight in 2020

And what did he do to earn a title shot :beli:
You watch Collision? Okada attacked Brody. This is his punishment. :yeshrug:

also gotta add in the fact that Okada beat his boy Buddy so Brody prolly wants to get some revenge for his friend for that. Plus with Buddy hurt, they need to get Brody involved in big matches to help push him. he's done great in both CC tourneys as well as plenty of singles matches. better to give him the spot & see what can be done to get him a singles title someday.
