I will keep playing the lottery but I am realistic about my jackpot winning chances.

The Truth
Basically the whole "take it one day at a time" and "small victories" holds true.

That's why people should do 1, 3, 5, and 10 year goals.

Focus on one and hit the other, than another, than another. Setbacks will happen, unexpected successes will as well.

Then start all over again:yeshrug:

The Truth
The thing about chasing dreams is that you get sidetracked doing other shyt it gets to the point are your original dreams realistic enough to pursue anymore.

I left for the military to get money to go to school to pursue my "dream", but it got to the point that I'm a lil comfortable and dreams vs. reality are pretty distinct.

I have a pretty decent career that should only get better if I put the effort into making it better. But there's a lot of school and training that goes into doing both.

So at the moment that's where I'm at. Closest thing I've been to a dream is having a nikka steal my beats to create a pretty hot song. So now, even though I still make beats that people like, I'm stuck trying to figure out if it's worth it. I still help my homies make beats and send lil shyt out here and there, but I got a career and the next 4 years will be crucial for both.

Because if I'm not seeing success in my "dream" anytime soon, I need to worry about something else and do my own thing as a hobby. But I'm debating on to follow my dream or follow my career... Or some how do both

Exactly, you got unemployed people 30+ years old getting high everyday, living in their grandma basement talking about building their brand and becoming a mogul. And no one says anything to them. That's what the Black communities is all about now, letting clueless people fantasize and never correcting anyone.

I didn't mean you specifically, but most people who have big dreams are probably pretty eccentric too so anything even resembling a normal life would be miserable to them
This is how i am.

I tried doing the corporate cubicle 9-5 thing and it made me miserable. Why did it make me miserable? I had to cold call 100+ businesses a day trying to sell them group insurance plans they didnt want ask for or need. It was 6 hours of calling and getting hung up on swore at or just politely told that they werent interested.

I hated wearing uncomfortable dress clothes.
I hated being one of the youngest people in the officw out of 50 people.
i hated not making consistent money...or shyt...any mony at tims.

Even though i was working on wall street...tye office was on 14 wall street next to the nyse and the federal building...i did not feel like a player. I felt like a chump.

To this day..ive made more money selling my original clothes...than ive made at that job. Which is funny and sad.

I would die if i had to do the routinw the majority of thw coli does. Cause most of the threads in tlr seem like they come from people who claim their happy but really are miserable.

i feel u breh, most ppl probably think were crazy or delusional but i doubt the meaning of life is working, growing old and dying
Facts. I really don't see how people do it, waking up everyday and going to some job that they're indifferent to or hate.
That's what the Black communities is all about now, letting clueless people fantasize and never correcting anyone.
That's definitely not what the Black community is "all about now.":francis:

I hate to hear people talking all this fantasy BS with type of path or plan. "I'm gonna to change the world" :martin:

:what:Really? What you gon do, extract energy from H20? Can't even make koolaid right.

Only a few people ever see their dreams come true. It would be like hitting that Billion dollar lottery last month. Face it, most people are born poor and are going to die poor.

What sane person would put so much into something that's fantasy and so farfetched and unlikely to come true? You're stupid.
:snoop:

I've cousin that's been rapping since the 1990s ain't made a dollar. I've dated wannabe models and actresses, the farthest they got was having their photos taken by some perv at the EconoLodge. When I was a teacher, kids asked me, what should I try to be when I grew up. I told them, it's hard to say especially if you from a family that don't have any doctors, engineers or lawyer to get first hand knowledge from. I tell them to chance the money, bcuz money will make it possible for you pursue other endeavors, cuz when you broke and at a job you hate, you're fukked. Most kids just say that sounds good. That's what are society teaches us to do, sound good and look good with no plans of action.

Personally, I've never dreamed. I've only tried my best and avoided CACs, Cops, court and child support. I'm a project baby so all I ever really wanted was a 96 Impala SS, a decent crib and some chicks to bring there.

I'm an OVERACHIEVER!!! :blessed.

What I do do is have goal that I clean make a direct path to. IT cert, check. Buy a house, rent out the basement, check. Finish degree. Save up, buy another property and rent it out. Stop playing yourself and come up with realistic plans and goals.

Some of you are shooting for the stars and never leaving the ground.
I rather climb to the roof, then the trees, then the mountains, just go far as I can.

I'm a dreamer but I feel you. Some people are idiots and will blow all their dough and position in life to chase some bs dream that was brainwashed into them. "I want to be a doctor to help people" - dude has corporate position living good and was stacking but goes through hell of school bills and shyt for cited reason "help people" I find that to be a bs reason when people become doctors

You don't know what you're talking about really. My life is far from boring. Juggling women, I live in Louisiana and DC. I went to Paris, Germany, Istanbul last year. New Orleans and Texas every other month. I drive a Audi A8L, what you pushing.

I don't dream, I just do. There are paths to money and success.

I'm shytting on people that believe in dreams without any type of plan or path to them.

Well that's a big difference than what you said, its one thing to say you think people who have dreams of being a rapper or singer after 30+ and aren't any further than when they were 20.. But you didn't say that, you said dreams are bullshyt and never come true but the truth is if you have a dream you then need to have a plan and the drive to put the work in.. So your initial statement is false even you agree..

OP is depressed and needs to see a therapist instead of trying to bring the rest of the world down with him

I think its key to have realistic goals but you still never know. Its a balance. Movie stars, athletes, rappers etc shyt and bleed just like everyone else. Its about knowing when to quit, not never getting started out of pessimism and fear
