How did y'all get into golf?

i blew out my knee playing pickup basketball in college; on a wide open, uncontested, fast break layup too.

i didn't get acl reconstruction surgery for 2 years so i couldn't play basketball for a while. my buddy took me to the driving range and i got hooked. watching tiger woods and anthony kim got me even more interested in golf. since then, i've gone to the 2011 us open and 2012 masters. i just copped tickets to the 2018 us open in new york. i need to see tiger one more time before he possibly gets hurt and retires. i've been to lots of big NBA, NFL, MLB, and NCAA games; lots of playoff games too. seeing tiger in person > all of those. there's something so wildly and calmly electric about seeing tiger in person. i don't know how to explain it but i'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Spieth is +3 thru 2 today. Tiger is gaining ground and he hasn't even teed off yet; only 5 back of the lead now!

You wont regret it breh. I started playing in '92 when I was 9 years old. It really is a beautiful game to play. Especially if you enjoy nature and the outdoors. If you can get a group of your boys to learn at the same time, its really a win. You can play until you're 80 years old

I golf lefty and have a ridiculous slice..and I can't putt to save my life. Only thing I'm decent at is the in-between game with irons and wedges. Game is too frustrating for me to play regularly
